December: We don't need January's permission slip...
Greetings fellow empowered beings!! :) As we're approaching this last month, let's take a look at the past year (things we've achieved, lessons we've learned, things we've left behind and added) and let's use that to mobilize us in this next month. Let's use this last month of the year to build momentum and get a running start into 2026. We don't have to wait.... We treat January like it has magical powers when really it is just a month with better PR. Psychologically speaking, December is prime time for momentum building. It is the month where the brain naturally shifts into reflection mode, which means insight is already simmering and it might make it the perfect time to launch! A lot of people experience SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in the winter months--- so I think that it's really really important to look at the habits that we engage in and how this either contributes, reinforces or helps ease this effect. (side note--with my clients in Michigan, I start having conversations about this in September because the weather here along with the habits really influence people's experiences for 6 months at a time!! We can't control the weather, BUT we can do things differently). *****So, how are you using December and what are your intentions? *****How will you use this past year as a way to move into the next? Here are some questions to consider as you look back on your past year (questions are part of an AAR (After Action Review). 1. What did we intend to accomplish (what was our strategy)? 2. What did we do (how did we execute relative to our strategy)? 3. Why did it happen that way (why was there a difference between strategy and execution)? 4. What will we do to adapt our strategy or refine our execution for a better outcome OR how do we repeat our success?

I love this! I also think December is a perfect time to do this type of reflection because for me, being Catholic, Advent is the start of the Catholic Liturgical year and December is really a time to prepare our hearts for Christmas
Holiday Season Mindset Shift (Beat Body->Best Body)
This is a post that is NOT written by me. It's written by @Kate Galli and she runs: plant-positive .A group where vegan and plant curious individuals can connect and prioritize their health. I asked that I share this in the group because I think that it's something worth keeping in mind as we approach a season that is known for overindulging. The sleep part really stood out to me... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you subscribing to the BEAT Body or BEST Body mindset this holiday season? In the world of beat body, a focus on restriction and enduring dominates. But, there’s another option: Best Body! Meet Ms/Mr Best Body- not perfect, not saintly, yet smart. Best Body treats their body like a best friend- with appreciation, respect, and a little forethought. Let’s break it down -three holiday situations, two very different approaches: 🎉 1. At the Christmas Party ❌ Beat Body: Arrives starving.Hasn’t eaten properly all day. Attacks the canapés like they’re life rafts. Washes them down with free bubbles (because, duh, they’re free). Then the next-day “recovery binge.” We’ve all been there. However, here’s the truth: “Free” for your wallet isn’t free for your body. The time and energy you’ll spend trying to “work off” those choices? That’s the real cost. 💚 Best Body: Eats normally throughout the day. Grabs a quick, nourishing snack before heading out. Enjoys a couple of vegan snacks, skips the rest without FOMO, and if drinking, keeps it simple (vodka soda, red wine — no sugar bombs). When the night’s done, Best Body has a plan, even if it’s just a “defrost and microwave” option like lentil curry made last weekend. Hydrate. Refuel. Sleep. Done. 😴 2. When Sleep Is Lacking ❌ Beat Body: Wears exhaustion like a badge of honour.“ Party hard, I’ll catch up in January.” Running on caffeine, sugar hits, and willpower fumes.

I love this, "Best Body treats their body like a best friend- with appreciation, respect, and a little forethought." If we really thought about our bodies like this we would definitely make better decisions. I love this post and it is a great reminder going into the holidays to treat our bodies like a best friend with appreciation, respect and thoughtfulness....becasue we have to live with them😂
Unexpected joys--I got to meet one of you!!
As many of you know, joining Skool for me was more about having a creative outlet, and also a place to collect and organize material that I can maybe use in the outside world... One of the coolest and truly unexpected blessings has been the development of this community and the relationships that have been forged along the way! So truly thankful for that! Thank you all for that. Well, guess what?? Yesterday, I had the honor of meeting one of our own!! @Dr. Melissa Partaka and I got to spend a few hours together, talking, connecting, and truly enjoying each other's company! To see and be seen is one of the greatest gifts, and yesterday's space provided that in such a meaningful way. It's one thing to read words on a screen and to envision a person, it's such a more real and connecting experience to actually experience someone in real life. The authenticity that you see in her writing/her posts is embodied in real life and that is really cool! So thankful for having met her and looking forward to more experiences! I've been in a state of wonder lately, being more on the lookout for good things than usual. Not as a denial of hardship but as a balance and truth. As a way to care for the nervous system and increase cognitive flexibility. As a way to hold space for what's present. Connections are so important and I've been leaning in to that this year more than ever. When we notice the good, when we connect, we strengthen neural pathways linked to calm, connection, and resilience. All good things... What is one positive moment or small (or big)blessing you noticed recently? Do you try to stay on the lookout for good things?

November--all of the challenges or none of the challenges???
November is one of my favorite months of the year. I get a burst of motivation and focus and I get more reflective. I don't doubt that a lot of it has to do with my more intentional focus on gratitude. (you can find my approach here: https://www.skool.com/inspired-life-empowered-being-7894/gratitude-beyond-the-list?p=4adc8ad8 --not sure why I can't hyperlink this...) Since you're all likely part of groups that are doing challenges (e.g. gratitude, no sugar, journaling , finances, etc), I don't know if I'll add another one to your plates... My focus this month will definitely be on gratitude, journaling, getting more/better sleep!, decreasing sugar, and being intentional with my spending and how I use time. :) ********BUT, I'm curious about what type of challenges/areas of focus that you guys have for this month?? Please do share below! :) *****(Also, I'm considering doing a little leaderboard competition for the month---this may be a separate post, but I'm also wondering what you guys think would be a reasonable gift for top participation?...while I never started this group with the thought of ranks and things like that, I've been so so thankful for the gift of community. It's been a blessing and such a lovely unexpected surprise and would like to gift the community back in some way). Okay!!! All the love to you guys!

I have such a hard time narrowing down the polls to just one😂. But I am going to go with Gratitude focus. I also love this time of year...the crispness in the air and the changing of the leaves. I think because I grew up in PA and fall is such a beautiful time of year. I always long to go back home for a visit around this time.❤️. I love the idea of a leaderboard competition. One idea of a gift could be a copy of your favorite book or a book that has impacted you the most🥰
