Self-care, what do you do?
After the fortnight I've had (booted off Facebook, tumble dryer packing in, turns out it was just the fuse, and losing my new book document, then found), I'm looking forward to my swapsie session with @Ewa Skabek this morning. It will involve Reflexology and Crasnio-Sacral Therapy and of course plenty of smellies! ❤️ My little munchkins (grandchildren) bring me no end of joy. It was my grandaughter's 3rd birthday yesterday, but I'll be seeing her and her brother Saturday afternoon. I often get told off by my daughter for behaving like a big kid...... do I care? Of course not! 😂 My other self-care is taking myself off to a private woodland owned by a good friend, where I run Wild Women in the Woods every summer. I love the woods, the campfire and cooking and eating outdoors. 🌲 I'm also happy as a pig-in-muck when I'm investigating new oils. I've investigated and written about some 250 EO's over the years and I have another 20 odd I'm going to be looking into over the coming months. It's not just the chemistry stuff, I look at that as the oils A&P, I'm more interested in their personality, like finding out what really underlies a clients issues. What do you do for self-care?

New Classes Tab
Good morning tribe! I like the K.I.S.S. principle, as such I have made a new tab ^^^^ up there. In it you will find full details of the various courses and classes I run, whether they are in person or via zoom or a blend of both. You will find classes suitable for novices and therapists alike. It's an easy, one click search, of all classes, and will be added to, so check back regularly. Same applies to all the other topics you can see in the tabs. They do save you just trawling through all the post on this front page. Have a look, you might find something you would like to attend and take part in. I'm not a mind reader, so if there is a subject you would like to learn more about, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do. If you would rather a 1-on-1 private class with me, then have a look in Classroom (major tab) and you can arrange that with myself. Thank you. Rainbows, Jane x

Bawling my eyes out here!
I don't believe it and don't understand what has happened! I had finally finished my Poison's book this morning and was ready to upload it to print. I had saved it...... but it hasn't! It's still there on my desktop, but an older version from way back in January! All the work I have put in over the past few weeks is not there! Can anyone help please..... I am heartbroken!

oh Jane that sounds horrendous. I pray you find a solution to recover it. I know sometimes this has happened to me with me homework but eventually I find it has saved. Can you go into word and recover. is it in the list of documents recently used? Is it in word? or a different programme? Don't dispense yet daring hopefully between us all we can figure it out x

Shout out to Reflexologists in our Tribe!
OK, as this group in not just about essential oils, to all you 'toe twiddlers' out there..... 1. What is the best thing you ever learnt during your Reflexology training that blew your mind? 2. What would you like to learn more about that would enhance your Rx treatments? 3. Are you just a thumb and index finger twiddler, or were you trained to use all 10 tools? 4. Like and comment below to get some points, and I'll also add something in Classroom that I will give you immediate access to, which will also give you extra 'points' 😊

fellow toe twiddled here haha Great questions and very thought provoking. The biggest take away was the reflex points associated to the anatomy and how in the beginning someone mapped it out and found the correlation- blew my mind especially when it can be traced back to thousands of years BC. Reading the feet is something I would love to know more of as this was not in my course - it was in the advanced one the year after. I use all digits in different places xxx
What's this all about then?
Very often over the years, I have seen so many 'benefits' of EO's but often the information is based on what the plant, read herb, will do and can be far removed from what the EO will do. (Pic #1) Also, and a bug bear of mine, there are so many EO's out there available to the public, which quite frankly, should not be available at all. (Pic no 2) A couple of years ago, I started my next book, entitled The Natural Approach to 'The Poisons': Herbs v Essential Oils. It is very nearly complete, my target is by the end of this weekend. I am not a herbalist by any stretch of the imagination, I'm a Clinical Aromatherapist. However, any Aromatherapist worth their salt, will also look into the original plant material as part of their education. I've thoroughly enjoyed doing this deep dive into the history and the application of herbs today, and comparing that to the Essential Oils. The herbs and EO's in the book are listed on the HDTEO (Hazardous, Dangerous, Toxic Essential Oils) list, and IFRA (International Fragrance Association), and they regulate fragrances used in all types of products that come into contact with human skin. This can over spill into the Aromatherapy industry, obviously. Further the COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) for the UK Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002. The American equivalent is OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). In Europe, the equivalent is the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) all of whom define essential oils as “a volatile part of a natural product”. I'll update more once I am happy to put the book into print.
