The New YouTube Ai Ask Studio
Have you tried the Ask Studio? It looks pretty cool. Saw Sean Cannel talking about it. The fact it has access to not only your channel's videos but also the comments is very exciting. How? I asked it what it suggests my next video topic be about, and it based it's answer on my channel's past 90 days results. The suggestion was not surprising and I am making that video next. (Today) You can access this tool in your YouTube studio, upper right side, thru that black star. Let's see what happens 🤨 📍Update: the video posted this morning and in the first hour and a half it's ranking number two of my last 10. But I must say it is not the topic I really want to talk about which is basically Social Security. I think it was suggested because there is so much wondering, worry, interest, etc. about it.

New AI channel feedback?
I am creating a channel about AI enhanced/generated historical moments in time. Not sure if 3 minutes is too short. Chat GPT says not, but I'm not sure. Here is an example and I'd love your views. i have pivotted from 'filmmakers over 40' to what I feel is a stronger niche for me

@Just Krista thank you for your observations and advice 🙏 I wanted to use an avatar rather than myself. Clearer voice and means I can produce videos without having to set up a camera etc.

@Rozani Navas-Smith thank you. I suspect the sync has gone out in post, so I will re render 🙏
Switching out thumbnail after 12 hours after poor performance.
I am switching out my thumbnail after seeing poor performance after 12 hours, to the next thumbnail with the big phone and 'Hands Only'. I have attached my analytics below after 12 hours and why I am experimenting. The reason I am dialled in on thumbnails right now is because my last 3 videos were 1 of 10's so now I am asking AI for help - in this videos case, it is saying it is a packaging problem, so let's see how it goes. Do you change out your thumbnails and titles sometimes after posting? I don't normally, or not this fast anyway. Here was the Chat GPT response below to my asking 'can I change anything to help this video?' and what led me to making this new thumbnail: Your AVD (4:38) is a good sign. People who click are watching. The problem is packaging: CTR 2.4% is low, so YouTube won’t push it wider yet. This is a thumbnail/title job, not a content job. What’s not working (based on your screenshot) Thumbnail issue Your thumbnail is basically saying: - “PHONE ONLY” (clear) - “faceless” (red bar) but it’s subtle and a little confusing at small size At phone-size, the face + red bar becomes visual “noise,” and the real benefit (“you don’t have to be on camera”) isn’t instantly readable. Title issue “Start YouTube Without Being On Camera” is good, but it’s not adding extra punch beyond the thumbnail. You want title + thumbnail to work as a pair, not repeat each other. Roughly how many impressions has it gotten so far? (If it’s under ~500 impressions, the CTR is still “noisy” and changes can swing fast.) Your retention is fine (4:38 AVD with a ✅ at your size is a win).Your CTR is the problem (2.4% with a down arrow). That means: people who click are enjoying it… you just need more of the right people to click. What I see in your thumbnail right now (based on the screenshot) What’s working - “PHONE ONLY” is instantly readable (great). - Your face + the red bar is a pattern you’ve used before, so it’s on-brand. - Clean layout (not cluttered).

@Karen Taylor - I hope you get some success following the change. I tried tried VidIQ once but am just going to try ‘borrowing ‘ ideas from successful channels in my niche, this time around.
Need your help please and what AI suggested.
A bunch of us have been doing Friday night lives and it has been fun trying some new things recently. I would love your input and suggestions and critique on ways we can make this more valuable for the audience. Here is my ask: What: I host a weekly creators catch up Live series where we talk about what we have been doing and learning on our channels, experiments, the lot How long is it: Every Friday afternoon/evening USA time, for 1 hour Who is on it: Anyone that wants to be but we have a core 6-8 people What is going well: The unstructuredness of it can work well, the fellowship, community bonding with our friends who join us in the chat, learning from each other whether in the chat or on the live, and I find it really fun. Challenges: The unstructuredness of it can work against us because there is no promise of certain value for viewers/chat participants apart from hanging out for whatever period of time people come and go for. Also because I have been lazily calling it 'Creator Catchup' there is no promise of value and can start to look like 'oh these people know each other, this is a catch up for all of them' as in, if you come across it, there can be no interest for a new person. What is AI suggesting? I asked an AI and it said below - Title formula (discovery-first) Topic first, show name last: [Big problem / promise] | Creator Lab Live Examples: - Fix Your Thumbnails Live | Creator Lab Live - Why Your Videos Stall | Creator Lab Live - Pick Better Video Ideas | Creator Lab Live - Stop Rambling in Videos | Creator Lab Live Your promise (the sentence you repeat every week) Use one clear promise line. Here are two strong options—pick one and stick to it: Promise option A (my favorite, most honest) “Creator Lab Live is where YouTubers over 40 workshop one problem a week — we review real channels, test ideas, and leave with one next step.” Promise option B (more community-forward) “Creator Lab Live is a weekly work session for YouTubers over 40 — less guru talk, more real examples, real feedback, and real progress.”

Some cool ideas - though quite a detailed list to get head around. Personally, I think workflow discussions useful on how people stay consistent. I have stsred training a GPT to take me through the phases. Some success but ongoing. Hope the cohort still working well together👍
What do you want to see, do and try out in here in 2026?
I would love your thoughts on what you'd like to see us have fun with in here, this year. With these new categories, I'm hoping it will make it easier for us to post our thing in the area that feels like the right home for it. Are any categories missing? One thing I love is Coffee Hours, but I am struggling to work out when to do them for our time zones. In some ways, I feel like making 2 per week, the same times, every week, for a month, and see how they go. I want to try lives too, where we make a time and just go live then whoever wants to join can join live and it is recorded too, I believe. Feel free to re-categorize any of your posts if you want, especially recent ones. And I am excited for @Lucy Caldicott to share with us her learnings after her massive success with her channel that is now at 5.32K subscribers and the below video she published 2 weeks ago that has 112K views so far 🩶🪙🩶 Heading for that silver play button in 2026!
