I'd be interesting in some tips around bikes/gear.. new vs 2nd hand bikes, what to look out for in a 2nd hand bike, electric vs manual gearing, what aero gear is worth it, disc wheel/aero helmets etc, and what should be left for the pros!

Late entry but I'd be interested to hear how everyone rotates through their running shoes for different runs, how often they're using carbon shoes during training, how many kms they're getting out of pairs etc

@Mark Martella Yeah I've read a bit as well, I agree that they feel good on the road and it's hard not to keep using them, I just try to keep them for my long runs on the weekend so I dont trash them in half a year! I track the kms through strava, I usually get ~500km out of most shoes but that drops to 200-300 for anything carbon plated, once the spring goes in them they start feeling heavy to me.

Hey All, I'm Dave, 33, spent a decade in restaurants then moved into finance and thought it was time to get fit again, so learnt how to swim and gave triathlon a crack! Been with Greg for just over a year and had a great result at Geelong last year. Hoping to back that up with Geelong and the big one at Cairns IM with maybe Sunny Coast later on! Keen on a big 2026!
