Resume
These videos on how to do a resume are really good! Are there any resources that you can use to identify what keywords to use in your resume? or should we do it based on the application? I also have a couple of questions about my resume. I have been a pharmacy tech for a little over a year but with my current job for less than a year. Will that look bad for jobs to see that I'm already applying to another job? My HR person told me to put a cover letter that states I love working for my current company but looking for more whatever it may be. And then the last thing is that since I have 70 videos on youtube I have developed some editing skills. I'm not a pro or anything but enough to know some things. Should I make a completely different resume based on my youtube creator career?

ChatGPT has been my best friend with resume building since most of the resume builder tools only seem to want to suck money out of you. I would go to the type of position that I am aiming for and then pick out terminology and tools that the company is looking for and try to adjust my resume so that it can have those included. Also I have put my list of experience on ChatGPT and have asked it to modify my experience to try and make it a tad bit favorable for whatever position I am applying for. Example: let’s say if you where a security guard in the past you can have it modify the wording and make it say “Have been on a reactive team that prioritizes the overall security of company owned data and its infrastructure” this word work if I’m trying to get a SOC position within Cybersecurity since they are normally a reactive team. You’re not lying your just stretching the truth and honestly I’m all for people stretching the truth on your resume especially if it’s going to get your foot through the door - Sorry for the long response.

All good, bro as long as it helps. Regarding the ATS (Applicant Tracking System), think of it like an Excel spreadsheet that allows recruiters to sort, filter, and keyword search through candidates. Every organization sets up their ATS a bit differently depending on the roles they're hiring for. One useful trick is to gather multiple job postings for the same type of role and use AI to identify the key overlapping terms and qualifications. From there, you can build a resume tailored around those common keywords. This way, you're optimizing your resume for multiple job postings at once, without having to customize it individually for each one to make applying more efficient since it can be a hassle.
Learning new skills
How are you guys honing in and learning new remote skills while working at your day job?

Fortunately, my day job aligns with the type of work I aim to do remotely. After a full day of work, I head to the gym to recharge, especially since I spend most of the day sitting. In the evenings, I dive into Boson NetSims, TryHackMe, or Hack The Box to sharpen my practical skills and prepare for my future remote role in cybersecurity. I feel like eating almonds and drinking a lot of water helps me stay focus.
Introduction
Hi, I’m David but my friends also call me “Genie”. I’m 27 years old, born and raised in New York, with 100% Colombian roots. My first experience with remote work began in late 2021 when I took on a remote IT position from Cali, Colombia where I ended up living for two years (highly recommend it!). While living remotely is when I started to follow Austin’s content which was awesome and inspiring! I eventually returned to New York to finish school and gain more hands-on experience. Now, after nearly two years as a Network Engineer and wrapping up my degree, I’m ready to go back the goal is to move back to Colombia, but this time I would like to plan a road trip across the entire country not just the cities, but from the mountain peaks to the sandy beaches, and even deep into the Amazon. I want to experience everything Colombia has to offer, not just one corner of it.

@Timothy Harris Love to hear that man since you already now how to dance a bit you’ll probably pick it up quickly. Cali “es la cuidad de la salsa” as my Dad would call it and if you know how to dance a bit and enjoy some aguardiente you and your partner will have a great time in Cali!

@Brian J Bro, you're going to have an amazing time December is the best time to be in Cali because of La Feria de Cali. Gringos get a lot of love over there, especially if you're genuinely interested in learning about the culture. Cali has so much more to offer than just partying you should definitely check out Pance, Cristo Rey, and El Boulevard. Hope you have a blast, brother, and always stay safe!
Hello
Hi everyone, My name is Kane and I reside in Los Angeles California. I am part of the Southern California Import car culture scene that love to build cars and interact with others that love the hobby, I also DJ on the side when the opportunity arises. I am currently unemployed, my position was recently made redundant being with the company for 20 years. I have been carefully looking for work, more towards remote work. I love to travel. I go to Philippines three times a year to spend time with my girlfriend that lives there and I have a trip coming soon. I am in the fence, thinking if I should leave the states to start a new life abroad because the cost of living is becoming nearly impossible and that I love to travel the likes of Japan, Hong Kong, and elsewhere in Asia. I found Austin's social page and got me interested. I am looking forward on joining this community to help guide me to this possible new adventure and find remote work that I could have the flexibility to travel, save money and start a new life with my girlfriend. I hope with this experience we can become successful to live abroad and be able to help others that wants to do the same. Looking forward with you all. Thanks!

Living abroad was an incredible experience. I spent about two years in Cali, Colombia while working remotely in IT for a company based in New York. During that time, I became the healthiest and happiest version of myself. I’d absolutely recommend it—100%!
