Yo what's good Goosers!!! ๐Ÿชฟ
I'm David Iya. Forbes said I was cool once (30 Under 30). Y Combinator let me in twice (still confused how). Built a B2B marketplace across 30+ countries and made about ~$70M move through it. Currently spinning up a few micro-saas tools because every time I try to relax my brain opens 47 Chrome tabs. Now for the stuff that actually matters: ๐Ÿฆ„ Favorite color: Whatever color the sky is at 3am when I'm still awake "just fixing one more thing" ๐ŸŒˆ Favorite Pokรฉmon: Psyduck. Constant headache, perpetually confused, somehow still powerful. We are the same. ๐Ÿ› Current Skool challenge: I started my community 4 days ago so literally everything. I don't know where anything is. I clicked something and now I'm here. Send help. Joined because @Goose seems mentally unstable in the best way (same) and someone posted about buttholes being powerful so I figured this is my tribe. I'm not saying I need to hit Level 3 to feel whole as a person but I am saying I've checked my points 11 times today. Please help. My love language is notifications. I'm not proud of it but I'm honest about it. Also I put pineapple on pizza and I'm not sorry. Fight me in the comments. P.S. I recently started Business Builders Club where I teach people how to build businesses, sell AI automation, and make their first $5K using the same frameworks I used to scale to 7 figures. Basically I help people get paid while robots do the boring stuff. Can't wait to meet you all! ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ•บ

๐Ÿฆ‘ 659 Members Removed. Down to 141. This Feels Like Squid Game.
I just made one of the hardest moves Iโ€™ve ever made as a community owner. The metrics might even go against me with this decision, but one real lesson came from it. I removed 659 members in one sweep. Now weโ€™re at 141. And yeahโ€ฆ it feels a bit like Squid Game ๐Ÿ˜… But hereโ€™s the truth behind the drama ๐Ÿ‘‡ This wasnโ€™t about punishment. It was about alignment. So I changed the rules of the community that if you must perform very simple tasks (introduce yourself and get to lvl 2) to stay inside the free group. There is also a membership question stating this up front. That's because over time, the community grewโ€”but engagement dropped. People joined then never engaged. There are lurkers for sure and that is okay, but.... My community is related to hybrid calisthenics, and in fitness the smallest actions make the biggest difference as you need to build momentum, and that starts with a simple introduction. I want my community to be the best for people to reach their calisthenics goals. So I asked myself a scary question every Skool owner eventually faces: Is this a numbers gameโ€ฆ or a culture game? I chose culture. What Iโ€™ve learned (and what might help you): โ€ข If you say you are going to do something, do it. I said I would remove those who decided not to be a part of the community. Now everyone that said are thankful and more engaged than ever. I have NO IDEA if the metrics will reward this move... I know honesty and action will. Since the cut: - Conversations are sharper - Energy is higher - The remaining members actually want to be here If youโ€™re afraid to clean house, DON'T DO IT! I have been told that there is no need to remove lurkers, as people come back after days/months. I have NO IDEA if it is even worth it in the long run. But if you tell your members you are going to so something, you better follow through to build trust, and so I did. Curiousโ€”have you ever had to make a โ€œSquid Gameโ€ decision in your community? ๐Ÿฆ‘๐Ÿ‘‡

Dude, I respect this so much!!!! Quality over quantity. Especially when youโ€™re trying to create a rich, high engagement community.

How Did You Come Up With Your Community Name? ๐Ÿค”
Every community name has a storyโ€ฆ How did you come up with the name of your Skool community?

Mine came from staring at a wall for 2 hours and then typing the first thing that didn't make me cringe. Very scientific process.
