Everyone says they want growth. Everyone claims they want accountability. But the moment it gets uncomfortable— That’s when most people tap out. Not because they’re not capable. But because they’ve never built a system to push through the resistance. So here’s a 5-step check-in I use when I feel like quitting: The “Don’t Tap Out” Framework 1. Name the Resistance Ask: What exactly am I avoiding right now—and why? Awareness beats avoidance. 2. Anchor to the Bigger Outcome Remind yourself: What will this discomfort unlock long-term? Make it about the mission, not the moment. 3. Shrink the Next Step Take action: What’s the tiniest thing I can do right now to stay in motion? Send the text. Book the call. Say the thing. 4. Declare the Commitment Tell someone. Write it down. Say it out loud. Accountability thrives in daylight. 5. Build Reps, Not Regret Every time you don’t tap out, you build trust in yourself.
