I like it! Very chill, nice downtempo beats, and the mixing sounds great with the lower pitched vocals and higher pitched melodies.

Awesome! I hope making music brings you joy. What type of music are you hoping to create?
What's your goals for 2026?
New year - new goals! I want to know what your goals are when it comes to music production for 2026? Mine is to make at least a full song every week, but this is also my main job so it might be easier for me than for anyone who has this as a hobby.

Back in September 2025, I set myself a goal to produce 100 songs before I release anything publicly. Yesterday, I finished #35, so I am making good progress, and the songs are definitely getting better. The first few were really horrible, and the latest few I would call "good but not great". My goal for 2026 is to finish those 100 songs in order to produce something that I like and start getting feedback from others.

@Shannon Ryan I know exactly what you mean about recording live instruments! I, too, have too many stringed and otherwise non-electric instruments that I would love to capture accurately. Even my acoustic Concert Ukulele sounds much better in-person than any of the recordings I have attempted. I have heard that a combination of a ribbon mic and a clip-on pickup can work well, and my favorite Harpist actually uses a pair of Condenser Mics mounted on a stand (Harpist KT: https://youtu.be/fDVejsCbSPw?si=g0xjRzhU3WZcMgUT). Good luck to both of us in our recording endeavors, and I hope you can get more comfortable with your DAW!
Short project idea.
I was shocked that I made this a couple of days ago. I played it today and tried two vocals—dang. I feel like I gotta share this. How did I do this? I listened to deep house mixes on YouTube. That’s where the idea sparked. I messed around with my MIDI keyboard while listening to the mixes, and that’s when I came up with the bass pattern. I just grabbed a vocal from Splice. Feel free to give me feedback or anything else.

Like others said, this is a great bass pattern you came up with, and it sounds very clean. Great work!
New Music - Chris Brown x R&B Type Beat
Thoughts on this one? Took way longer than my target of 90 mins but that's expected with R&B I heard a Chris Brown Style vocalist on this but who do you think would sound good on this? Feedback welcomed!

This sounds wonderful. Like Martin pointed out, the mixing is great, all the sounds are crisp. The structure flowed nicely, I like the short bridge (Or maybe it isn’t called a bridge for R&B?) around 1:30. My only minor critique in the interest of providing feedback (and this is very much personal preference, so feel free to ignore): the claps felt a bit too frequent and in the vocal range, so if you were to add a Chris Brown style vocalist, the claps might get in the way. But I am sure you’d notice and remix a bit to decrease them with an EQ. But in the absence of a vocalist, the higher pitched claps fill a gap in the frequency spectrum, so it totally works! Overall, this is great, thanks for sharing!
