Hey everyone, I'm Danny currently living in London. Been on and off on the guitar for the last 10-12 years. Made a lot of progress since but also the 'breaks' I take unintentionally from guitar slowes down my progress baaaaadly..... Whenever I have a band or a gig coming up I play a lot and I love it, but when nothing is around the corner I just leave the instrument in the corner for months. I'm lack of musician firends so I'm glad to be here and hopefully this group helps me to keep going on even when there are no projects/gigs coming up. And let's see maybe I can help some ppl out here as well in some ways. Cheers \m/
Guitar Gains #7 – Fast Pentatonic Picking
This one shows you how to move around the pentatonic scale fast and clean using only two simple five-note groupings. It’s a great way to break out of the classic two-notes-per-string shapes and get long, fluid lines across the neck. As I explain in the video, this works both as a picking exercise and as a way to navigate the scale more musically. Once you have the basic pattern down, try shifting position each time you change strings. You can move either up the neck or down the neck on every shift. Both directions give you different challenges and open up a lot of cool variations. It’s a fun pattern to practice, and once it locks in, you’ll find yourself using it naturally in solos. For practice, go slow and aim for clean, controlled picking. Keep the hands relaxed and the notes even. After you’ve done enough slow reps, try pushing the speed for a few bursts just to see how it responds. That mix of accuracy-focused practice and short speed attempts is one of the most effective ways to build real technique. If you want to download the Guitar Pro, MIDI, and PDF tabs for this lesson, they’re inside the Guitar Gains course in the Classroom (Premium tier). Now, here’s something important: most players try to fix their picking by doing more random exercises. But the truth is, more exercises don’t create progress — structure does. If your practice routine isn’t built in a way that develops clean mechanics, synchronization, and motion efficiency, then adding more effort won’t solve anything. It just creates more frustration. That’s why I built the Deep Dives and the Premium section. They give you a clear and focused training system that removes all the guesswork and finally gets you moving forward with real momentum. And right now, the Premium tier is still $29 per month, but only for the first 50 members. After that, the price goes up, and this level of access won’t be available again. So if you’ve been serious about improving but want a system that actually produces results, this is the time to jump in. Join the Premium tier in the Classroom and start getting the kind of progress you’ve been working for.

I love this, very good way to break out from the 2NPS pentatonic runs by adding one note from the adjacent pentatonic box.
