transit non start.
afternoon all, had a call last night for a 65 plate transit 2.2 euro5 non start. apparently been driving fine parked it at a job came to go home and it wouldn't start. I told him try some easy start and id get to him today. he messaged this morning saying it will run on easy then dies when taken away , so I said get me a fuel filter just incase. turned up this afternoon plugged it in only codes were for all 4 glow plugs and clutch switch. after checking clutch on live data I deleted the code so no issues there, plus it would crank anyway. now then, fuel pressure key on was sky high like 1600bar πŸ˜‚ so I thought fuel pressure sensor. I had 5v ref, signal but ground had 6.7v disconnected and 3.4v connected. I probed the ground and earthed it through my test light, straight away on live data fuel pressure came down to less then 50bar, cranked it and it started πŸŽ‰. this is where it could get interesting, I traced the loom to the ecu, 1st connector on left which had a cable tie holding it in πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, plus the coolant tank above was empty and looked like it had been leaking on to the ecu. I disconnected the plug, it looked wet inside and 1 pin had some green crusty onit. I did a continuity test on earth wire from fps to ecu plug and she beeped fine. so question is, is the ecu fecked by being shorted inside or something else πŸ€”
transit non start.

@Philip McCutcheon I've relied on purely on milwaukee tools, this new van may give me the space now for a small compressor. ive got a trade policy through covea and public liability through onesure.

@Philip McCutcheon ive been looking at the 240v hyundai, probably the 8lt. got a 2000w inverter, 130ah leisure battery and a split charge on the way.
Scanners
What scan tool(s) is everyone using, I’ve got a topdon phoenix smart and an autel mk906 which has unfortunately died today, do I upgrade the autel to a newer more capable autel or does anyone recommend a different brand, garage also has a snap on something or another but I’m not a huge fan of it

thinkcar master x, a Chineseum launch pro5 and im508. the thinkcar started to get on my tits with a few features from a recent update so I bought the pro5 1/4 the price and does the same πŸ™„. I have the autel for key programming and for getting me out the shit when thinkcar/launch shit themselves on psa vehicles πŸ˜‚. reckon next year ill get the icon or hella s20 for the built in gateway access.

@Lawson Thursfield the only thing that comes to mind when using the pro5 is it doesn't save pids you've chosen when you leave live data, changing pressure scales can be annoying. love that you can click a tab whilst in session and view external info, unlike thinkcar u have to exit completely. the dpf regen is visually pleasing πŸ˜‚
