The Last Good Day
What does a good day look like for you — and when's the last time you actually had one? Be honest.

Yesterday I took my son to the beach and ended the day with a 10k run with my running club - it was a good day but not all days can be like that. For me a good day is when I'm engaged in something, normally involving collaboration with others, but moving in the flow of God. It is a feeling on being "on track" with different areas of my life, with God as the foundation.
Now I look like a boy.. but im alive
I hadn't even thought about my obsession over my beard. Every day trimming, brushing, washing, oiling, waxing running the derma roller tool over it etc. My wife even bought me one of the kits that comes with like 8 scented oils to put in it. I couldn't leave the house without a brush. If I was going to choose one thing for self care that would have been it... until this morning. I was at about 14 hours into my shift. Everything was normal. Pumping fluids out of the back of my semi trailer into a coil tubing unit that was doing work on a well. I got out to help the other guy from another company to disconnect my 4 inch hose from his equipment. He grabbed a steel 5lb short sledge hammer to hammer the connection apart and that's when it happened.. Wellbore gas that was compressed between salt water in the hose started seeping out while he was hitting the union. Typically made up of benzene, hydrogen sulfide, natural lpg and liquefied natural gas. When the fluid hit the open atmosphere it instantly vaporized and him striking the union with a steel hammer was all it took. He swung and missed the union, striking the steel pipe that the brass fitting connects to and created a spark.... the gas ignited and made that unmistakable whoosh sound like gasoline on a camp fire. Needless to say, my fr clothing protected me from any major burns and the whole left side of the goat portion of my beard is gone.. the other guy? Not so lucky. He didn't get burned by it instantly burned off his entire beard, his eyebrows and lashes and his bangs or whatever you guys with hair can the stuff up front. I had been grooming this beard for 5 years. It was a foot long, fully grown in thick tender love and care taken with it and gone in an instant. And I don't care. It's just something I started by asking how long can I get my beard in a year and just didn't give up on. The only disappointment that ill have now is that my wife can't lay there and run her hands through it anymore. But hey... I look 15 years younger this morning.

Glad you are ok
Got 5 minutes for you this weekend!
This weekend I'm setting aside some time to pray. And I want to pray for you specifically, not in a vague "God bless everyone" kind of way, but actually bringing your name and your situation before Him. So tell me, what's going on? What do you need prayer for right now? Drop it below. I've got you. Seb

I'd appreciate prayer to know God's direction for the next stage of work
The life you intended
Honest question for the brotherhood today. If you strip away the obligations, the routines, and the things you do because you've always done them – what's left? Is the life you're living the one you actually chose? Or did it just shape you while you were busy getting through the week? I'm not asking to create guilt. I'm asking because most men never stop long enough to notice the difference. What's one area of your life right now where you feel like you're just going through the motions? Be honest. That's what this space is for. Seb

I think anything at the moment where I am not engaging God can feel like going through the motions. He gives me purpose in the normal things of life which otherwise can feel dry.
The 5-Minute Morning Reset
Most men start the day on someone else's terms. Phone in hand before their feet hit the floor. Notifications before prayer. Noise before thought. And then they wonder why the day feels reactive instead of intentional. Here's what I've been doing instead — and it takes 5 minutes. The Morning Reset: → No phone for the first 30 minutes → One minute of silence before God → Write down one thing you want to do deliberately today That's it. Nothing complicated. No cold plunge is required at 5 a.m. Just 5 minutes of choosing who's in charge of your morning. Try it tomorrow and come back and tell me how it went. What does your morning currently look like? Be honest.

I'm glad there is no cold plunge! Recently I started the day with this simple prayer: "Today I choose to follow you Lord Jesus. Help me to do your will; to be a good husband, father and worker"
