Sept. 26 & 27 Charity Hike/ Walk in CT Raising money for Veterans & Families
Hey Everyone, My name is Dana Corriveau, Father, Firefighter, & Air Force Veteran. I started non-profit that was born from my 114-mile hike across the state of CT to find Christ. This Charity walk/hike on a smaller scale mimic's that. I named it Take Up Your Mantle Challenge. Our mission statement is attached to the flyer below. Our goal is to inspire people to push their limits no different than our vets do for us, find/strengthen faith, and reflect and share the stories of veterans. How it works: 1. 1. Choose a tier that matches what you're looking for physically. 2. 2. Have friends & family sponsor you for the event to raise $1-(X)/ per mile for every mile you walk or hike. 3. 3. Reflect on the stories and the faith shared that day for yourselves during the hike and then share it with those who sponsored you later. 4. 4. This is not just a solo event it can also be done in groups. Where to sign up: www.mantlechallenge.org/events 1. 2. We have incredible guest speakers on attached on our flyer below from Gold Star family members and Former Air Force Special Warfare Airmen. Even if your out of state you can still be apart of the mission in our Tier 4 group where we're going to livestream the event. Thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless. How does the Challenge work & what are the Tiers? Each person, family, or group who signs up will get as many friends and family to sponsor them for the event at $1- $(X) per mile. Then they'll select the Tier that is most appropriate for them. On each day the President will give a short sermon on scripture from the Bible followed by a Special Operations Vet from the Air Force who will give a speech on overcoming adversity. The purpose of this is, is because every person or family is going through something and we want to strengthen individuals, families, and communities to become more resilient and we hope some of what we share encourages the challengers. It may cause some to break through barriers, find fiath, or even bring healing to families. It will be different for each challenger. At the end of the event we want you to record your thoughts for yourself to reflect on and then to share what you heard that day both from scripture and the veteran with those that sponsored you. This helps us to spread faith and keep the stories of these veterans alive whom so few know about. Deadline for local Hiking Tiers is 20 Sep. Tier 1: 1-50 miles (two days of hiking) Tier 2: 1-25 miles (one day of hiking) Tier 3: Family Fun walk as many miles as you can. This is also serves as the out of state Tier as well. Mantlechallenge.org/events Mantlechallenge.org/donate The Challenge while yes is to try and get as many miles in as possible and to complete the distance is not required to go the whole way. This about each person or group growing together and really letting God's creation do rest. We ask that you push yourselves just outside your comfort zone in honoring what our USAF Special Warfare Airmen do everyday. #PararescueFoundation #FirstThereFoundation #TACPFoundation

Hey Everyone, Happy to be here, thank you for the invite David. Looking forward to tapping into the resources here and lessons learned from everyone. I'm a Father of a little T-Rex and a Sassy Sweet pea who thinks she's 16 already. I'm a full time Firefighter currently and have two businesses that I just started in the last 6 months. One is an LLC for a product I invented for the Fire Service where 5% of each unit sold is going to fight child sex trafficking and the other is a Veteran Non-Profit fundraiser for AFSPECWAR Foundations that I'm the President of. Other than that, just trying to make it day by day and enjoy the process:) If anyone has experience in these specific areas I'm all ears.
