Played a game and lost it some minutes ago. I feel like chess has become different for me. I'm questioning if I truly need to invest my time with it, just to see some numbers on a screen go up or down. I feel like chess is much more than this. Chess is about something that helps you in real life, since it rewires your brain to better use logic, spatial reasoning and all the other benefits of it. It's also the people we got to know during our journey into this mysterious and fascinating world (of chess). I personally feel like this post will resonate with many of you, and even if it does not, still it'll be a post worth reading. Farewell to a game that has accompanied me for 3.5 years. The second I get to 1850 and play a game, I immediately get insane opponents who never blunder or make mistakes, makes me feel like theyre hired by chess.com to keep me from reaching 2k lmao Been there for 2 months now, I was never used to plateauing but maybe thats just my potential I reached. 2000 would be really nice though. I play as best as I can, analyzing, calculating, taking my time etc but sometimes I cant just cant do anything since they dont make mistakes, but eventually I do. Key for coaches. Most coaches I've worked with or talk with use lichess to coach even if they play on chesscom - You can view unlimited master games whereas on chesscom you have to pay to view certain famous ones - The broadcast page is better as well.
