Many of my college professors garnered my respect, but one did particularly so through his style and lessons on leadership. The lesson I remember most from him is that good leaders develop systems to the point that they are no longer necessary - that is, that they as the leader could be removed and the system would not crumble due to their absence. It reminds me that leadership in its true form is inherently selfless. Often leadership can be something that breeds oversized egos, but that reveals a role that has become self serving. A leader is to build something greater and more stable than they themselves, allowing others to grow into new roles whether that be within the same system or a different one if those people chose to lead elsewhere.
Post 1: The Kickoff — Leadership Isn’t a Position
We live in a culture that loves titles. “Manager.” “Director.” “Coach.” “Leader.” But here’s the truth — you can have a title and not lead anyone, and you can have no title and still change lives. Real leadership isn’t about position — it’s about posture. It’s how you show up when no one’s watching, how you treat people when you gain influence, and how you respond when things don’t go your way. -> Teaching Moment Think about posture in a physical sense. If you stand tall with good posture, you carry strength and confidence. If you slouch, your energy drops — and people feel it. Leadership posture works the same way. It’s your inner stance — the attitude, habits, and integrity that people sense long before you ever say a word. Titles can be given or taken away. Posture is something you build — through daily decisions, humility, and consistency. Here’s what that posture looks like in action: - Showing up early when others coast. - Owning mistakes instead of blaming. - Choosing encouragement over criticism. - Serving before you’re asked to. That’s posture. That’s leadership. -> Reflection Exercise Take 5 quiet minutes today and think about this: - Who are you when no one’s watching? - Where in your life are you waiting for a title instead of living with posture? - What one small habit could help you carry yourself like a leader this week? Write your reflection down or share a short version in the comments below. 🔥 Challenge This week, lead from posture — not position. Encourage one person, take ownership of one thing, and stay consistent in one small area of discipline. Leadership starts there. 💬 Question for you: When was a time your influence mattered more than your position? Share it below — your story might spark someone else’s growth.

2 things stand out the most to me: leading through consistency and leading as though I have been tasked to do so by the King of the Universe. I think back to when I was a youth ministry intern in college. My ability to show up and be present and engaged with the students 2 times a week made a big difference. I never did anything crazy or even met with them much outside of the church setting, but the way that many of them pursued a relationship with me after I graduated told me that a significant impact was made on them. I did not anticipate that and consistency was the only explanation for it. However, I still feel as though there was further growth that I could have helped those students reach through taking my intentionality to a deeper level. I was intentional to show up and bring my whole person, but I did not have many of the 1-on-1 conversations that can be so important for discipleship. Why? I was seeking the approval and acceptance of the students I was leading more than I was seeking to please the One I was actually there to serve. Therefore, pushing them to answer uncomfortable questions and live out their faith in a more realized way was something I seldom did. But if I had kept my eyes on the task God had given me, I think it is safe to say both I and the students entrusted to me would have gotten more out of that relationship. Remembering who I serve now motivates me to make the most of the time I am given with others and to go into the uncomfortable places where real growth is found.

Hey guys, my name is Dan DiGrazia! The biggest thing driving me right now is finding people around me who have no connection to God or a church and creating the type of relationship with them that makes them wonder about what a life in connection with God could look like. I've spent my whole life surrounded by Christians, but God has reminded me what my purpose here is, and that is to be His embassador. In light of that, I want to grow in my courage to love strangers in a "confusing" way, where they question why I would seek to invest in them when they may have done nothing for me. But Jesus did the same for you and me and changed our lives through it!
