WHAYT is one (maybe two) thing(s) that you do that are OUTSIDE of Running, training, lifting, that you do that helps you be a better runner and get to your goals. So, sleep, fuel, and I like to study psychology/neuroscience for fun,and ART.. lots of art!!! I've been down since the first week of April, and being able to see all of you guys do your thang has definitely been an encouragement!
I did it!
I had my first Olympic distance triathlon, (1.5k swim 40k ride and 10k run) had been doing sprint which is half the distance, last weekend and I finished and loved it. More time time to settle into each sport felt good. I have another Olympic in a couple of weeks then the big one in July. Thank you all for the support 🩷

That one thing that kept you going...
Welcome back to another MONDAY MORING CONVERSATION SO just so you all know.... Every runner has faced the disappointment of injury, setbacks, or the long road of rehab at some point in their journey. It just comes with being a runner. So for today's "Monday Morning Conversation" Based on your own personal experience, what advice, encouragement, or perspective would you give to a runner currently going through an injury or rehab process right now? What helped you stay positive and keep moving forward? What was the one thing that you did the helped the most? Thanks for being amazing EAT CAKE RUN CLUB!

@Amy Mosca I've been thinking about this too. Ice baths have been helpful, but I cant have much movement, so a swim could be very beneficial for sure.

I know @Kyle Dickerson has a few…. And 2nd: What has been your best run so far in 2026 ? Glad to be back you guys! I missed you. Can’t wait to hear what you are all up too ! V

Still recovering from my first official 10mile trail run, which was definitely one of the most awesome experiences so far this year. I'm slowly picking up the milage though and see my chiro this afternoon and hopefully that helps. The only race I have planned at this point, is the 50k in November. But there are some other opportunities. We shall see what happens 😏 Other than that, seeing this post is a huge highlight for the spring season, that's for sure. Oh, and, all that debt I mentioned back a few months ago, its all done, I'm officially financially free for the first time in almost 30yrs!!

@Amy Mosca yes, everything about it was so much more enjoyable than the other races I've done. I mean i totally enjoyed the others too but the trail, I can confidently say, is where I belong.
