A Small Win I’m Proud Of
Had a nice win recently and wanted to share it with the community. I’ve been staying consistent, testing different approaches, and paying closer attention to what actually gets results. The biggest takeaway for me: progress doesn’t always come from making huge changes. Sometimes it’s just about finding what works and doing more of it. Still learning, still improving, but definitely happy with the progress so far. What’s a recent win you’re proud of?

The Most Expensive Words In AI App Building: "It Worked When I Tested It."
We're living through something kind of remarkable. You can speak an app into existence. You describe what you want, AI builds it, you click around for a few minutes and think, "OMG.. it works." So you ship it. Then you think of another feature. AI builds that one too. You click around again. Looks great. Ship that too. For a brand new idea with no customers, moving that fast is the right call. I'd tell you to keep going. But the day someone logs in, pays you, hands over their information, or depends on your app to get a result.. the rules change for you.. whether you realize it or not. In professional software, pushing a change straight into the live app is called "shipping straight to production". We avoid it for a reason. You know how your app is supposed to work. You built it, so you test it the way you built it. Your customers have none of that. They'll click things in an order you never imagined. They'll refresh at the wrong moment. They'll be on a phone with two bars in a parking lot. They'll leave a required field blank. They'll open two tabs. They'll do something that makes you say out loud, "why would anyone do it that way?" Because they aren't inside your head. And when one small new feature quietly breaks login, or checkout, or access to something they already paid for, your customer can't see the cause. They only see the effect. The thing they trusted didn't work when they needed it. That costs you trust, which is the slowest thing on the list to earn back. And for most founder built apps out there right now.. that risk is already in your app today. Testing doesn't introduce it. It just moves the discovery from your customer to you. Here's how this gets handled in professional software, and none of it is out of reach for you. 1. Run two copies of your app: staging and production. Same code, same setup, separate data. 2. Every change lands in staging first. Including the small ones. Especially the small ones. 3. Hand the clicking to a machine. Tools like Playwright drive a real browser for you: open the app, log in as a test customer, fill in the form, click the button, wait for the page, confirm the right thing actually happened. You describe the journey once. It runs every time after that, without you.

oh!! this is a nightmare. especially when it happens when you are giving a demo. the product works just fine after hours of testing but when you hop on a demo, there is an ERROR. haha. i guess it's the name of the game.

That's a great take Elena. Even in general, in life, if you chase something it just goes far and far away from you. They key is to attract it to you. @Elena Stojkovska I saw on your profile bio that you're an entrepreneur. Wanted your opinion on something I'm building. DM me?
