Crafting a Signature Talk- Thrive Live
Thursday, 8 am MT/ 10 am Eastern https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82654041042?pwd=b9PHMcwfyAVIxLzBJHat13bcTqMq1C.1 Super excited to have @Ben Sherry as a guest in the Thrive Community, to kick off our Stories of Transformation Contest! Every founder has a story worth telling - most just haven't found its shape. In this workshop, we'll map out your Signature Talk that shows who you are, what you know, and why it matters. Ben Sherry is the founder of Oracy Club, a global community for founders who are looking to get visible, build trust, and win more clients through live events. After a decade of teaching, teacher training and communication coaching, he now helps coaches and consultants build signature talks, workshops, and masterclasses - the kind that build authority and fill a calendar with warm leads.

Oops I missed it because I set the time zone wrong in my Apple calendar. Darn..
What are you drinking today?
Share a picture in the comments below, and share what you like about your drink of choice. I’m drinking herbal tea today. I combined the three teas in the picture into a big cup of tea this morning. Sipped on it for a few hours. It was good. I love how energizing green tea is. It helps me get over the hump of the late morning when I do a fasting day.

Having Trouble Losing Weight? Consider Insulin…
I’ve released 85 pounds since August 2024. I don’t weigh myself often, so I don’t even track it, but I checked the other day, that’s how I know. Not sharing this to gloat, but to share what’s possible. - I didn’t exercise intensely. Heck, I barely even exercised. I do move a lot cuz I live on a ranch, but I didn’t do any targeted exercise sessions. Working on changing that cuz I want to do yoga and dance more and build more muscle. - I didn’t cut out carbohydrates, or fats, or protein for that matter. I’m a vegetarian, so I eat plenty of fruits and some grains and potatoes. My meals are even bigger today than they were when I was overweight! - I eat dark chocolate a few times a week, and I enjoy the heck out of it. How did I release the weight?! I got smart about insulin. You can see some of my videos about that topic in the classroom under the class, Get Smart About Insulin. Insulin is a hormone released by the pancreas, which helps to convert the blood sugar we consume into energy for the body. It’s released every time we eat, and released in greater quantities when we eat carbohydrates. The more insulin we have, the more our bodies create and hold onto fat. When we can be more efficient with insulin, our bodies don’t need as much of it, and it’s easier to let go of the fat. Here are some of my biggest tips to use insulin in a more efficient way… - limit or eliminate processed carbohydrates like refined sugar, flour, corn syrup, etc. those cause a huge spike of insulin in the body. The more insulin you have, the more your body holds onto faT - if you eat a meal with a lot of carbohydrates, or any kind of big meal, do some movement afterwards like gentle walking or dancing which isn’t too vigorous. This helps the body start to clear out some of the sugar released into bloodstream from the meal, which supports insulin in doing its job. - experiment with creating longer non-eating pauses between your meals. If you’re someone who likes to snack, see if you can add the snack you enjoy to the end of your meal so you have a greater time gap between meals. The longer time you allow between meals, the more time insulin has to convert your blood sugar into energy, helping it to be more efficient.

Having Trouble Losing Weight? Consider Insulin…

I actually started intermittent fasting a month ago after watching one of Dr Berg’s videos on it and how an excess of insulin can cause skin tags to show up. Has anyone else had these appear? He said garlic juice (or minced garlic and providone iodine helps make them disappear) and then went on to say how to solve the root cause of skin tags, the insulin issue. So I’ve been eating two salads with chicken during the week and some weekends. I don’t do breakfast anymore and the first meal is lunch and then dinner. I am seeing the fat/weight come off (no cardio, just walking here or there in daily routine and strenth PT work). And to my surprise, with the intermittent fasting and more salads when I went to apply the garlic remedy after taking some time away from it the skin tag was a drastically smaller size!! So by shifting nutrition only it helped shrink it. What used to be a large bubble raised over the skin was now almost flesh with the skin again. I was amazed. I put the garlic/iodine remedy on though to see how it worked alongside the nutrition shifts. I’m seeing how useful fasting is, not just something you might feel obligated to do because others at church are doing it but I see now God really did design it to restore health! It’s like a part of surrendering control over something we used to control too much. But I voted for limiting processed carbs. Weekends is when I let myself have some because I like to eat out sometimes and we can’t always control what restaurants do but we can pick how much of it we consume/eat.

Hi! Danielle here hailing from Phoenix, Arizona in the USofA and what brings me immense joy and lights me up from inside out is drawing. Over the last 2.5 years I’ve been studying with an old Disney mentor who has helped me believe in a dream I hardly thought was possible before, animating! In the next few months I will have animated my first 2 seconds building Disney caliber skills! It’s a big process but an exhilarating one. And best of all it’s time well spent, unlike the social media binges I used to do. šŸ˜…ā¤ļø I’m in the process of writing a book about the journey so other artist/drawing enthusiasts might be encouraged to try and maybe start to see they too have what it takes to build Disney level skills over time! In this group, I hope to discover likeminded fun people to talk to as well as those working daily on fighting the good fight of eating well and using their time to fuel patience and next level in demand skills of their dreams more than social media consumption binges. I wrote down tonight for myself, if I watch a video something actionable needs to happen at the end of it that moves me closer to a dream in my mind. ā¤ļø
