Howdy!
Howdy everyone! I'm Anarian Taylor here out of Houston, TX. I joined with my lovely partner Phillis, but for me I found a pull toward excellence through Yonnick and Marichel. I want to get into a deal to start the momentum as fast as possible and I believe that through here I will obtain the prerequisite skills needed to dive deep into capital raising and set myself apart from others. My biggest goal is to nail a deal within 4 months after starting this class. An interesting fact about me is that I love dungeons and dragons and I am a professional gamemaster! Here's to our mutual success!

Introduction
👋 Hey hey everyone! I’m Parul Sharma, a techie by day, dreamer by… well, also by day (because let’s be real, nights are for sleep 😅). With 15+ years in software development and currently leading as an Architecture Manager, I blend logic, leadership, and just the right amount of caffeine to keep things moving ☕💻 Over the past few months, I’ve been learning the ropes of multifamily real estate investing, and wow, there’s a lot to take in! 🧠🏢. It’s been a humbling (and exciting!) start, and I’m so ready to dive deeper with this amazing community, to grow, ask questions, and soak up all the wisdom I can. I’m all about networking with heart, having meaningful conversations, and surrounding myself with people who challenge and inspire me. Outside of work and investing, you’ll find me hiking, traveling, or on a long walk with my headphones in and my brain full of ideas 🚶‍♀️🌍🎧 Super excited to be here with this amazing community, to learn, share stories, grow our network, and maybe even do some deals together 🙌💬 Let’s build something impactful, one connection at a time 💡🔗

Make a Connection
Hello everyone, This was the first week of the capital raising course, and its all clicking together. We talked about how to make genuine connections not just pitching to investors. This correlated close to an audiobooks I'm listening to is How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Carnegie’s 6 timeless principles from Part Two hit differently this week. A quick reminder for us all: 1. Become genuinely interested in other people. 2. Smile. 3. Remember that a person’s name is the sweetest sound to them. 4. Be a good listener—encourage others to talk about themselves. 5. Talk in terms of the other person’s interests. 6. Make the other person feel important—and do it sincerely. The way we treat people is often the biggest game-changer. It’s what makes things click. 🤝 Putting these principles into real life can open doors you may have overthought when it comes to building a true connection. Do you have any recommendations on audiobooks to give a ear to? 🙌

Hi Phillis- Thanks for sharing :) Yes, genuine connections go a long way. These lessons were one of my biggest takeaways from the capital raising program. Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene is also a great book. Has some great insights that can help connect with people too :)

The Real Magic Happens When You Drop the Act
I used to believe in smoke and mirrors. Thought the secret to success was perfecting the performance—having all the right answers, never showing uncertainty, always appearing like I had it figured out. "Fake it till you make it," they said. So I did. I crafted carefully curated versions of myself. Spoke with confidence I didn't feel. Projected expertise I was still building. Smiled through the imposter syndrome that whispered I was just one question away from being exposed. But here's what I learned: smoke and mirrors might get you in the room, but they won't keep you there. The energy it takes to maintain a facade is exhausting. And worse—it's hollow. You end up succeeding at being someone you're not, which feels strangely like failing at being who you are. The turning point came when I stopped performing and started being honest. About what I knew and what I didn't. About my mistakes and my learning process. About the fact that confidence isn't the absence of doubt—it's moving forward despite it. Authenticity isn't about having no filter or oversharing every insecurity. It's about being genuine in your interactions, honest about your journey, and comfortable with the fact that you're still becoming. When you show up as yourself—flawed, learning, human—something magical happens. People connect with the real you. Trust builds on solid ground instead of shifting sand. Your successes feel earned because they actually are. The world has enough performers. What it needs more of are people brave enough to be real. Your struggles don't disqualify you—they inform your wisdom. Your questions don't make you weak—they make you curious. Your authenticity doesn't limit your potential—it unlocks it. Stop trying to be impressive. Start trying to be true. The right people will notice. The right opportunities will come. And when they do, you'll be ready to meet them as exactly who you are—which has always been enough.
