Thank you
Stop asking for referrals. Do this instead.
Asking for a referral feels like begging, so most people never do it. Good news. You're not supposed to ask. You're supposed to build the conditions where it happens on its own. A referral is risk transfer. When someone says "I know her, she's solid," they're putting their own name on the line for you. Nobody does that as a favor. They do it when three things are true. - They know exactly what you do. Not "she's a VA." "She sets up support systems for Shopify brands." If they can't say it in one line, they can't refer you. Make your one-liner impossible to forget. - They've seen your work. Not your resume, your work. A post, a project, a thing you helped them with. Seeing beats hearing. This is why visible proof matters more than a polished pitch. - Referring you feels safe. They trust that if they send you in, you won't embarrass them. That trust is built in small reliable moments, not one big ask. Build those three and referrals start happening without a single awkward request. People refer who they can describe, have seen, and trust. Be all three. Of the people who know you, how many could describe what you do in one sentence? That number is your real referral pipeline.
Stop asking for referrals. Do this instead.
