Behind The Scenes (Share Your Story)
Everybody starts somewhere. For Ben and me, it started at an open mic back in 2012. We didn’t know exactly where we were headed, but we made a pact right then: We were going to play, write, and perform for the rest of our days. At the time, I was holding down the rhythm - drums and acoustic guitar, while Ben brought the heat with lead lines. I started out as a drummer back in 2002 but quickly switched to guitar because I could bring with me wherever we went. We’d both played in separate projects before, and we both were doing our own thing in town (musically), but there was a specific "click" when we teamed up. We just knew we’d be building something together for the long haul. Flash forward over a decade of moving states away, starting bands and quitting them. Working with each other to barely speaking, and here we are. That early partnership that began all those years ago and originated in "becoming big artists" has evolved into this community - a space designed specifically to help you sharpen your skills on the guitar and find your own "click." Here’s the truth: Life will change. Challenges will reshape you. But if you keep your dreams as close as you keep your guitar, you’ll always find your way back to center. As long as you’re moving toward the best version of your musical self, you’re making headway on something no one else can replicate: Your Journey. I leave you with some older pictures of Ben and I and the chance to share your own. Thanks for being here everybody! I’d love to hear from you today. Was there ever a moment where you almost put the guitar down for good? What was it that helped you pick it back up and try again? Drop your story in the comments. We’re all in this together. If you aren't ready to share the full story yet, drop a GIF that describes how you feel when you haven't played in a while but you're getting "the itch" to play again!
