@Blaise Tschirhart yep in the early days of Surfline, there used to be a forum. On the forum we had a thread called SURFLINE CONVERGENCE. We would meet at destination. Norcal , San elijo, Baja and camp, cook, surf and tell lies to each other. All ages ( mostly) all colors, creeds, genders etc.. but the same stoke and purpose. California was dominant, but we’d have people actually fly in for these things. Met some of the coolest like minded people ever.

It all started with a 1 day meet up and hang. Last one I went to was 3 day weekend and about 50 of us.
