Masterclass on Tuesday, Paying Gigs on Wednesday
Ok, maybe not THAT fast... but once you know what to do you CAN land speaking gigs FAST AF! What kinds of speaking gigs? - podcasts - keynotes - workshops - summits and more! But why would you want to? - visibility - visibility - visibility (Also, $$. Because paid speaking gigs are not as hard as you might think.) Building your own audience takes time, elbow grease, and hutzpah. Borrowing other people's audiences is like a rocket boost. And before you say "why would anyone want ME to speak to their audience?"..... let me say this: People with podcasts WANT guests People with events WANT opening acts and keynotes People with communities WANT to bring in folks who can help their members in other ways What you have to offer is incredibly valuable. Quit hiding it! This Tuesday, my Classifieds VIP bestie @Traci Poe and I bring you our YEARSSSS of mistakes (ahem, experience) so you can Step Up to the Mic: Find & Land Speaking Gigs. @Faith Adebayo I went to college to be a teacher then accidentally worked in sales and business development for 15 years LOL... it was hard because it felt SO UNNATURAL at first, but I learned SO MUCH, and turns out: Teachers make some of THE BEST closers, relationship developers, and content creators I've ever seen. We were literally conditioned in college to think small - and that sh*t sticks with you lol!!! Whatever lights you up most, do that - your value LITERALLY is your energy and expertise.

@Faith Adebayo great question!! A lack of confidence in my abilities 😂 …I was not passionate about being a school teacher (though I LOVE teaching) but something about the public school system and all it’s negativity didn’t sit right with me…. I grew up with a mom who substitute taught and had very negative self view and low self worth (my dad carried a lot of Catholic guilt/shame, so everywhere in turned in teaching felt TOO familiar to the victim mentality I was raised by.) A friend got me a job and although I was pretty miserable in it, I was grateful for the opportunity and trusted it was teaching me something. I floated going to grad school for guidance, but that felt like even MORE red tape. Then 3 years into working in sales I thought about marriage and family therapy but I just didn’t get the right vibe from one of the few local universities that had the program (I live in Baltimore so you’d think colleges would be plentiful)… but it felt like more debt for no skills that would help me make MONEY in that role either.

@Varsha Mistry omg no worries!!! it's BOTH ahah! Chipotle most definitly is a spice - but I didn't even think about that because I've been obsessed with bowls from the fast-casual restaurant called "Chipotle" for a very long time lol. I even had a client of mine take professional photos of me with a burrito once 😂 it had a heyday around 2010-2014 - I think the quality has declined since it went public, but I am still a loyalist LOL! Some stores are better than others (I have a long term goal to coach Chipotle's CEO and see if I can help bring the quality and OBSESSION back to life!)
