Tell me what games your looking forward to ? :D for me its going to be final fantasy remake part 3. I heard its closer then we think from a rumour and im so excited. The part 1 remake will always be my favourite game of all time ! I have never smiled ear to ear playing a game all the way through as I did that.

Operation Blackout Intro Scene
I’ve been practising level design & building out a level for Operation Blackout, a tactical stealth-adventure. Showcasing the crash site intro - where player wake up disoriented, alone, and begin piecing together what went wrong. I’d be glad to hear any feedback or perspectives?

That looks insanely good. Idk why but it gives me uncharted vibes !. The part where you come up to the cliff and look out over the valley is so good ! Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see more. Animations look sleek also!

Hi all, Encountering some tech issues. Unfortunately I'll have to cancel! BUT I am running a call on Sunday for anyone who wants a catch up, some accountbility for the last week and create some actions for the next week! Let me know who fancies it?

What should a Junior be earning?
This is a bit of a weird question because its very subjective to the state of the industry and localised to a company. However I see a good few jobs here and there offering 40k plus (sometimes for juniors) for mid ranged talent. I know there isnt much money in games compared to the normal software engineering side of things where I am looking but seeing a junior/graduate jobs going for 80k+ which feels fake to me as a working class person 🤣. I was told to accept minimum wage for a junior position (Which is approx 24/25k in the UK) and be happy with it. So im just curious what everyone else thinks. I see a lot of companies ask for what your desired annual income is in their application and I almost always put 24k. Is this shooting myself in the foot with unconfidence? I always thought less money = better chance of being hired because companies dont like spending money.

@Darren Playford Oh gosh has it been that long since I have had a proper annual wage 😅. Thank you for letting me know to be honest I should have researched it after april last year to be honest. Welp thats a L for me , hope that hasnt made me look like a weirdo in their eyes🤣. I will do better next time then. Thanks for the heads up

@Sai Bhargav Godugu thank you for the advice. I will do that next time. That is really solid advice, I never was good with this kinda stuff, I was always bad black and white view with money. Never considered to me, wanting less money could come back to bite me in that way. I just sent off an email saying 25k so I hope I didn't ruin that one. It's a weird game we have to play with companies 😅. Much appreciated ! 🙏
The industry has a problem
Struggling to find work and not getting a position can be quite depressing. Unfortunately this may be one of the biggest causes (not just in video games). There are a lot of Senior positions available and it is mostly Juniors who are applying because there is no other work.

Yeah it does suck. Even outside of professional jobs it is really really bad. I have been applying to just try to survive, having to skip meals and stuff and called in all my networks even for a job at a supermarket and just nothing. It really is in shambles. Praying it gets better soon or the economy gets better for everyone's countries. Thankfully people like Darren and Amir satvat are around to offer support and stuff just gotta keep hanging on !
