The industry has a problem
Struggling to find work and not getting a position can be quite depressing. Unfortunately this may be one of the biggest causes (not just in video games). There are a lot of Senior positions available and it is mostly Juniors who are applying because there is no other work.

One big probelm here is Linkedin - its data is being captured from linkedin profiles, so ensuring everyones linkedin profile info is bang uptodate, BUT i do agree with you, many people are just applying for anything at the moment which is a little difficult. Goes both ways! Direct on Studio career pages or Game Dev Job Boards would be your best bet.
