Epic Moment
I roadied for the band my producer plays keyboards for this past saturday. His bassist is like my Michael Jordan equivalent. His accolades include 3 household name artists. He asked me to sit in for a song and play his custom Brubaker given to him by the company as a musician. Easily my most exhilirating moment thus far in the music racket. Thanks for reading guys. I'm still questioning if I dreamed it or not lol.
Songs in my heart
An amazingly and wondrous thing it is when a note and a sound inspires your to have a thought that becomes a word. Then it seem as though poetry ekes out. As you’re writing and a musical melody comes together you play and write it down. Sometimes it comes quickly, but other times slowly. But then, there it is, a composition. I thought that my writing and composing was okay but yet strange many times, until I heard a member of Chicago give his testimonial on the song 25 or 6 to 4. Robert Lamm explained how he got the first parts of his song. He was sitting And looking out his window at the skyline of the city lights, and as he was doing this he noticed the clock on the wall and that he was having trouble seeing it clearly, but that it was around 25 or 26 till 4 when he was looking at the lights of the city. Thus he thought he would just write it down so he could remember the time when he was thinking about what he was seeing. Not thinking that it’s really part of a song. Amazing how that happened. Here’s the first lines of the song. Waiting for the break of day Searching for something to say Flashing lights against the sky Giving up, I close my eye Sitting cross-legged on the floor 25 or 6 to 4 Never diminished the thoughts you’re having song writers. A personal testimony!??!? I was playing chords to a full song I wrote but no words. From the beginning to the end. My wife walked in the room and said, “play that again,” so I did, then she said to me, “ I have words to this song!” Thus the song name FREEDOM CAME TO EARTH. Thanks for hearing me out! I hope this encourages someone!! Kristopher Swenson 🎸🎶🎶🎸✝️🎶🎶🎸

And you can't use suno for that Boyo! Awesome story!
St. Pat's Irish Pub Set?
I've been building a chordpro fake-book sharing app for a while now, basically something similar to ultimate guitar but with things I wanted: - Offline capable (you can create and edit songs and sets even offline), - Easy edit/view mode, - Sessions - if I host a session, others can join and get the collection I've shared for the session, along with real-time transposition. It was mostly to see if I could, and because I go to family jams and they all find the same song in different keys... Anyway, long story short, I've got a collection of Irish folk songs here: https://gigwidget.vercel.app/shared/collection/1dae0155-1c45-4ffc-9c50-940910685826 Let me know if you find them useful, or if you'd like to see others added.

You're only missin one Boyo! Look up "The Boys From The County Cork". One of my favorites.
Stickers on guitars
Ok, so this is probably a topic with serious opions, but…how do you all feel about putting stickers on your guitars. I’ve never really been for it, but my kid made some art and the school sent stickers of it and I was so proud and put one on one of my guitars

In general I'd say "Absolutely not.", but if I had a cool story about how my kid made a rad sticker for their Dad's guitar I would cover the guitar in them probably. All the Cool Dad points go to you today @Ben Fisher 🫡.
Strings preference
Hello Everyone, This is primarily for the bass players, but everyone chip in! I am currently looking to upgrade my strings on my 5 string bass. The set currently is the ones that came from Leo jaymz and I have D'Addario Electric Guitar Strings, XL Nickel, EXL110, Regular Light Gauge 10-46 on the way. Are there other brands/types that anyone prefers or recommends? I mainly play rock/metal but have a bit of blues here and there. I look forward to seeing what everyone has preferences on and why.

Look up La Bella strings homie. They don't advertise, but they've been around since the 1920's. They're pricey, but I have had a great experience with them.
