Are two websites better than one?
Cost to run two pages is not an issue due to it being particularly affordable. I am feel it would be beneficial to have two faces of the same business. Original carpentry joinery business generally more modern and newer buildings with modern straight lines and concealed access panels and storage amongst vast amounts of joinery and modern fluffy interior design finishes and designs. Second face (proposed) heritage carpentry and joinery works. Listed and historic structures requiring conservation, reparation and/or renovation. Now think windows and doors, buildings that are truly at home in a Harry Potter high street, that are literally centuries old and anything but straight clean lines - in fact clean straight lines are almost frowned upon. I have two current projects, one modern barn (15yrs old) refurbishment, and the second, a grade II listed cottage that is closer to 4 centuries old. Two very different clients and projects but similar application of skill set. I am still tweaking how I market my business as both areas appeal to very different people and properties and my feet are firmly planted in both worlds. Comments appreciated. Question: two webpages each with specific marketing message. Or. Get better at marketing my existing set up of one page?

Two websites.
New plan
Cliënt: small to medium sized businesses offering products or services to other businesses, for instance lawyers or accountants. Message: we write a message about the main risks to websites of certain types of business, and send the message to businesses of these types. We offer a (paid) risk analysis which we will discuss in a call. Medium: not sure yet, I might start flyering in my home town, or send emails in large quantities. Could try both off course. The risk analysis will take some time to prepare, but will help us determine whether the client has a problem and whether we can solve it. This would be the basis of the consultation which could lead to more sales. Our goal is to sell 3-5 analyses a week, which would make the endeavor profitable. All sales resulting from the analyses would be extra. Any thoughts?

Positive Feedback to First Direct Mail
Posted out the first 10 laser-targeted direct mail letters on Tuesday evening. Had our first response today (Friday) ... our future client isn't ready to buy at this moment in time, but I'm delighted with his really positive feedback 😊 Follow-up calls to the other nine suspects / prospects scheduled for next Tuesday.

Proud of you, mate. If you’ve got the bollocks, and enough prospects like this (which you should if you keep this up) you can start a ‘one-page’ newsletter to send out monthly. Keeps you top of mind.
I would love to work with...
I would love to work with Jon and Connor,however my Spotify account has gone up by £2. per month.Its unethical.

@Ana Beard 😂
Ugly is good.
I've enjoyed the Youtube videos on the stupidity of websites, and direct response marketing (newsletters). Yes, ugly or plain is good, I get it. It appeals to my lazy, DIY side. However... some of my ideal clients are a visual lot, like me. They respond to images. What to do? Embed nice pictures in a plain layout? Use colour strategically? This is not so much a call for help as a philosophical discussion, if anyone is up to it.

What sort of images?

@Ana Beard That's fine. A nice layout is beneficial to all. Type and layout is a great book to lean on for that sort of thing.
