Thank you, I’ve sold it already. 🙂
Pricing by the pound
Trying to get comfortable at buying lots of jewelry from folks on FB. I typically request a pic of what the seller has, but struggle when they ask me how much I would pay them by the pound. Do you offer a flat rate to folks for their lots or do you truly get out the scale and weigh the goods? How do you arrive at your per lb price? What's a good average per lb for an assortment of modern and vintage? I want to be fair to a seller but want to be savvy too.

I’m not a fan of the “sample “ pic for sure. If they have great reviews I May give it a try???? May not…. Sometimes even With pics it’s difficult. I try it out if it seems somewhat reasonable and judge whether I’m going back by what I receive. I always remember this…. “This lot may not have been the greatest, yet the last lot I tripled my $$$” just keep doing your best and adjust as you go. And please Always have fun! 🤩

I still need to look closer but first glance is classy
These finds don’t happen every day…
I wanted to share this with you all. I found this little brooch at an antique mall and paid $7 for it. I thought he would bring a little bit because of being a mushroom. When I went to sell him for a starting bid of $1, I turned him over to look for a makers mark and seen 14 K. I thought surely not but I was like let me test him and bring him back next show. I took him to the jeweler. He told me it was solid gold, coral ball, and emerald eyes. His comps were pretty high, some as high as $1500. I sold him for $750!! He was only about two inches long!!

Jewelry Rant
Well, half rant, half advice. Plain and simply put, I'm tired of watching new people or less knowledgeable jewelry people eat shit sandwiches from experienced individuals in this industry. It's just jewelry. It's not a secret recipe. It's not saving anyone's life, and it certainly doesn't make you better than the next guy/gal. Just be kind. Yes, you studied for 30 years, congratulations. I hope I'm not like you when I reach the same point. If jewelry makes you feel poorly toward other people or makes you want to be negative, then maybe you should consider a different hobby until you're ready to act like a respectable/respectful person. XO, Brad

Hunting for jewelry is like being on a treasure hunt! So exciting, never know what I’m going to find next.
