Fort Totten ND
What a wild and crazy weekend at one of if not the only western Prarie fort you can actually spend a night in. The officers quarters is now a air bnb and as luck would have it we were the only ones renting one of 10 rooms they have. so we had literally the entire fort to ourselves basically all weekend . The inn keeper and her husband were in an apt adjacent our room but they kept to themselves so I dont think any of our evidence can be attributed to them once so ever. Built after the civil war in a time when the us waged war against native peoples and forts were starting to dot the plains and Midwest to protect government interests this one built in the end of the 1860s being finally completed fully in 1870 used as military post until 1890. After that from 1891 till 1960 it was an indian boarding school where the gov appointed nuns and church groups to basically attempt to colonize native kids and get them to conform to our stands ironically the nuns sent here were from Canada just north of our state and only spoke French so they had to hire translators to go from French to indian to get everyone to try and speak English. Just one of thr many failures of this post in its long dark and sad history. Thankfully today most of the fort buildings and all were transfered to state property in the 1960 and immediately became a museum most forts were stripped and torn down once the military left this one being only a handful of western forts still boasting all its original buildings. I very much expected some activities but basically from friday evening before we even set up till today when we left it wasjust a flood of non stop action. Our room we got was recommended for ghosts and it didnt disappoint we set up a rem pod on the desk table and it went off regularly all weekend along with a k2 at the end of the desk and a laser trip grid at the closed and locked door almost as if someone constantly came through went to the desk then left. We also got a few hits on our sls camera , the twist style mag lights were a huge hit we got alot of those to turn off and on by themselves, our tracer wire we set in the hall went off alot while we sat in the parlor asking questions. Today with the museum open we were told to check out the theater there opened in 1960 and used up until 5 years ago and it didnt disappoint. From the start we heard footsteps in stage cassidy witnessed a shadow walking in front of a backdrop and the rem pod temp sensor pinged 5 or 6 times. We will have to condense and review all evidence but once its shareable I will postit here. It truly was a magical weekend at the mist active site we have been to yet and thats including waverly hills. Idk if theyre just bored and like the company when they get it or like playing with electronics but wow that was wild.

@Destiny Godden she said if we rent a couple rooms for a weekend and let her know she will happily block off the entire rest of the hotel so we have not only the whole building but the entire fort to ourselves id be roughly 200 a room for the weekend but with that youd get friday evening Saturday evening and all day Saturday to wander the forts other 15 buildings when the museum opens which you get a free pass to tour with your reservation. Its all gated locked and secured so there would be zero outside interference. Idk that you can get anymore bangfor your buck for that anywhere. If everyone is serious we should really try and pick a date next summer and try for it cause it would be memorable to say the least . Especially now that we know what parts to focus in in the fort . I can tell you though the hotel building is active pretty much from top to bottom there wasnt a single space we went in we didnt get at least something tangible to happen I dont know why or how but its just crazy active for some reason
Pennhurst data center rejected!!
For those who don't know, there was an application to repurpose the Pennhurst property in Pennsylvania for an AI data center. This would have been devastating to the paranormal community. Thankfully, the plans have been rejected. Question for lovely people of the collective
If a paranormal "travel" company existed, what are some things that you would look for them to set up for you? example...semi private groups for seasoned investigators/ paranormal teams, hotel/location packages, a place for teams to chat beforehand to get to know each other...

Weekly Discussion #35 - Haunted Hotels
Hotels can be some of the most haunted places. They can be old, have a lot of history (both good and bad), and they can be abandoned or functional. It could be a proper hotel or a bed and breakfast. Here is an article from Country Living listing 24 Most Haunted Hotels in America. Have you been to any of these or any haunted hotels? If you have not stayed in a haunted hotel or bed and breakfast before, which one would it be and why? For those outside the USA, do you know of any haunted hotels in your area? ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ: - Do tragic histories make hauntings more likely, or just more memorable? - Why do hotels seem to attract paranormal reports more than other buildings? - Could hotels act like โ€œenergy reservoirsโ€ because thousands of people pass through them? - Do you think certain room numbers repeatedly become active because of suggestion and expectation? - Could Prohibition-era hotels and speakeasies contribute to paranormal legends because of violence and secrecy? - Are hauntings strengthened when guests continually retell the stories? ๐—œ๐—ณ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ/๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—น: - Whatโ€™s the best evidence you ever captured? - Are hotels easier or harder to investigate than private homes? - What equipment works best in hotels where electrical interference is everywhere? - How do investigators distinguish paranormal sounds from plumbing, HVAC systems, and neighboring guests? - Would you rather investigate alone or with a team? https://www.countryliving.com/life/travel/g2689/most-haunted-hotels-in-america/
