@Anthony Thomas Haha we would be an elite scramble duo. Long game is alright but typically where I miss, but my 100 and in game + putting is impeccable

I am currently at 7.7. Lowest ever was 6.6. Goal is to get sub 5. No idea when that will happen (still haven't played this year) but it will at some point
❌ πŸ† First Competitive Round in 19 years (Tournament-style)
Have you ever played competitive golf? πŸ€” There are levels to "How You Golf". Fun with friends. Solitude playing solo. Fundraiser team outings. Corporate connection rounds. The list goes on. But ONE style of How You Golf offers a truly unique electricity that runs through the competitive part of a soul. A tournament round where something is on the line. Whether you win cash, a trophy, or any other prize; when you play competitive golf, every single shot carries greater weight than other types of golf. The last time I played in a competitive round of golf was when I was playing High School Golf. Since then, it's only been Long Drive. Until last weekend... I'll keep the long story short for you guys because I actually filmed the entire round and will share it here when the edit is done. 😬 I joined a local golf club and went out for the first time with them for the first "major" of the year held on May 2nd. Tons of fun, great group of guys, and some good competition. I hit the ball really well, but I putt like my life depended on it and I was trying my best to kick the bucket early 😣 I mean literally the worst putter performance of my life out there. In the end, I finished 8th in Gross and 6th in Net (outside the money). Loads of knowledge gained, and I've already taken action to fix some things (hint...stay tuned for a goodie in the coming week or so). Also made some awesome connections that are already cooking up some great things from this round. High ROI golf in ANY round of golf πŸ‘ That name atop the Gross leaderboard is Mr. @Jackson Barnes who actually shot his worst score in the 5 rounds prior I think it was. Several of which were under par πŸ”₯ If you have never played competitive golf, I HIGHLY encourage you to make it happen. Even if it's just playing for 10 pushups per hole, or a dollar per hole, or even $5 per 9 holes. Just get something on the line and learn from the pressure. Any guesses what goodie I have incoming to share?

I have a few different groups/leagues I play with. My large golf group has our first major this weekend. I wouldn't call it competitive per se - but there are winners, etc. We also have a handicapped match play league (same group) that is more competitive

3 Clubs - what would you pick?
I was talking with some buddies about this and am curious... If you had to play 18 holes at a regulation course (Par 72) and try to play as close to your handicap as possible with ONLY 3 clubs, what 3 clubs would you choose and why?

I would use: -18 degree hybrid -8 iron -56 degree wedge I can hit my 18 250+ so great option off tee. I can also chip with it (bump and run) and bend it - it's my all purpose club already so obviously makes the cut. 8 Iron stock is 170 for me so a comfortable club to either cut down back swing to 1/2 or 3/4 shots and can also go after it. And then the wedge decision is tough. ALmost took 52 but I feel better putting with a higher loft wedge, but the 56 gives me more versatility (and distance) than the 60.
Headed to the range for 1st time...
Will update later - hopefully I don't hit anyone 😁

@Craig Heath Practice. Lots of it. And with the practice everything change - grip, tempo, green reading, etc.
