Discernment in the Digital World
Discernment in the Digital World One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned lately is this:there’s a difference between following AI and using AI as a tool. When I first stepped into this digital world, I thought I had to become something other than myself. I thought I had to talk like the mainstream, act like the mainstream, and build like the mainstream. I fell into that trap fast. I let the noise shape me instead of letting God shape me. But discernment changes everything. AI is powerful — no doubt. But it’s not a leader. It’s not a voice you follow. It’s a tool you wield. And if you don’t know the difference, the digital world will swallow you whole. Discernment is how you survive out here. Discernment is how you stay yourself when everything around you is trying to turn you into a copy.Discernment is how you keep your mission clear when the algorithms want to pull you in a hundred directions.Discernment is how you use technology without letting technology use you. I had to learn that the hard way. I don’t have to be anything other than who God made me.I don’t have to perform.I don’t have to mimic.I don’t have to chase trends or talk like the internet tells me to talk. I just have to stay aligned. AI can help me build.AI can help me write.AI can help me organize, create, and execute. But AI cannot give me identity.AI cannot give me purpose.AI cannot give me discernment. That comes from Christ. T‑CRU exists for this exact reason — to help men navigate a world full of tools, temptations, shortcuts, and illusions. To help us stay grounded while we build. To help us stay honest while we grow. To help us stay aligned while we use the tools God has allowed in our generation. We’re not here to follow machines. We’re here to follow Christ. And we’re here to use every tool available to build something real. Discernment isn’t optional anymore. It’s survival. Let’s grow in it together.

“Jesus and Old Nic” — from John 3:1–21
“Jesus and Old Nic” — from John 3:1–21 When I read John 3, I don’t picture something ancient or distant. I picture Jesus and Nicodemus talking like two men sitting on a porch late at night — one trying to understand, the other trying to break through the fog. And honestly, I can almost hear Jesus saying,“Nic… come on, man. I’ve explained this three times already.”Not in anger — but in that patient, loving frustration you have when someone is so close to getting it. Nicodemus wasn’t dumb. He was just stuck in the only world he knew. And Jesus was trying to pull him into a new one. That’s how Scripture feels to me.Not dusty. Not ancient. Not far away. I imagine John writing his Gospel the same way any of us would write to our friends today — not thinking about how people 2,000 years later would analyze every word, but simply trying to capture what he saw, what he felt, and what changed his life forever. He wasn’t chasing fame.He wasn’t trying to become a legend. He wasn’t thinking, “One day they’ll read this in Gainesville.”He was just telling the truth about the One who saved him. And that’s how I feel when I write. Not that I’m writing new Scripture — the Gospel is complete in Christ. But I feel that same pull to tell the story, to point people back to Jesus, to speak about what He’s done and what He’s still doing. It wasn’t a respected job back then either. They killed almost every one of those men for it.So clearly, they weren’t writing for applause. They wrote because Jesus came to save us from sin, and that’s a reason worth writing about. So if you’ve ever felt like the people in the Gospels who asked,“Can anything good come from Nazareth?”or“Is this really how God works?” You’re in good company. Nicodemus didn’t get it at first. Most people didn’t.But Jesus kept speaking anyway. And so do we.

What I’ve Learned in the Last 24 Hours — And Why We’re Here
What I’ve Learned in the Last 24 Hours — And Why We’re Here The past 24 hours have reminded me of something simple but important: how you approach something determines what it becomes in your life. I created this space because I needed somewhere real — a place to heal, grow, and rebuild as a Christian man and a former addict. A place where I don’t have to pretend, hide, or carry everything alone. A place where accountability isn’t punishment, but protection. And part of that growth has come from looking at my family with clear eyes. My kids… they’re the reason I want to become a better man, not just talk about it. They deserve a father who shows up with consistency, not excuses. They deserve a man who is present, steady, and aligned with God — not someone trying to outrun his own past. And my grandmother… she’s one of the sweetest women God ever put on this earth. Her kindness, her patience, her steady love — those things have shaped me more than I realized. When I think about the kind of man I want to be, she’s part of that picture. My family has seen the best and worst of me. They don’t need speeches from me. They need growth they can feel. And that’s part of why I’m here — to build that growth in the open, with accountability, structure, and community. That’s what T‑CRU is for. Not a stage. Not a performance. Not a place to pretend we’re further along than we are. It’s a place to grow — slowly, intentionally, and honestly. A place where men can rebuild their identity, strengthen their faith, and learn how to carry responsibility again. A place where we don’t hide from our past, but we don’t live in it either. I’ve learned that platforms like Skool — and even AI — can either distract you or develop you. It depends on how you approach them. Used with purpose, they can help you stay focused, stay accountable, and stay aligned with your mission. So here’s the mission: - Healing - Honesty - Growth in Christ - Accountability - Brotherhood - Becoming men our families can trust and feel safe with
