Jobber
I just signed up and didn’t realize there was a section. No matter. My question is I had my attorney draft a contract for people to sign when the quote is accepted. How can I integrate the terms of the contra act into jobber or do I still need to have contract signed? Would a signed quote constitute a contract? Part of my contract is anything under 10000k is due and payable upon completion anything over 10k due 10days. Any advice?

Large projects for one man operations
I have a 100+ acre job coming onto my plate that is going to be a massive blessing. The project will take some time to complete. How would you guys manage growth while taking on a larger project? Should I set aside time weekly to quote jobs and schedule work to start several months out? My fear is catching one big fish, and then finding myself with empty nets afterwards and having to rebuild momentum.

I agree with Zach. If it can be phased that would give you the time to plan other site visits. Congrats on the job.
Minimum rate example 8 hour minimum
I have a small job quote. Since just starting need the work. After watching the crew day rate video I have decided instead a 4 hour minimum I changed to 8 hour minimum. It entails 1/2 acre mulching and a 950 sq ft pad for a pole barn. The problem is it will require 2 machines since the mulching head is dedicated to one machine. It is a 40 minute drive to the site. The rental cost just for the cat299 with mulching head is 2785. ( rental Quote) the other machine with smooth bucket is 500 day. As much as I want work in order to get my name out there I will have to do a hefty markup on the rentals in order to make profit off machines. This would be a 1-2 day job. Any advice would be helpful?

Thank you Cory. This was a former work colleague from the railroad. The problem was/is it is a 45 minute drive so when pricing I had to price accordingly. That is a great idea. Thanks for your input.
Big job
Hello fellow ops. I just scheduled a big 20 acre site visit on the 26th. The job will entail clearing and building a road. One of the things that was asked is if I could cut the trees down that are too big to mulch? Would you hire a tree contractor or attempt to do the work yourself? I am also not that I am scared but do I have the resources to commit to this size of job in my infancy as a contractor? So for those of you who pray keep Smoooth Operator Grading in your thoughts and prayers. Any suggestions would be helpful and yes I will be posting pics of the site walk. I also have a site walk for a five acre job tomorrow and a I will be doing a small grading job this weekend and I will finally be to do the before and after pics so William get ready for a lot of questions using CapCut.

Thanks Zack!! In my experience a dozer does a great job pushing trees over. I will let you know and post some pics of the walk through. I have a lot of questions for the owner. I believe it is wide open space as this is going to be their home site. Great idea on the roll off. Will be reviewing all the videos on here again. Thanks for the advice.
Yard Signs
Hello all, First le me say I love the site and all the info here. It has been awesome to have this lifeline and guidance. looking forward too see how everyone does. I am in the same boat as most here, just starting up in NE Florida area. Right now I am waiting to get decals and some signage installed on truck and equipment so I can get verified. I have a project lined up so i can get photos to start advertising online, I am kinda in a holding pattern until i get pictures for ads and website construction. I have been thinking about ordering yard signs to start advertising in my area. Have any of you tried them out and what was the results.

I was wondering the same thing Cory. Some jobs out in the country and thinking the only ones seeing the signs are the deer and squirrels.
