Gloves advice
Hi. Im a complete novice here seeking glove advice please. I’ve read over some of the posts already on and am considering Shok Shields for my son. He’s 12 and has slim hands and long fingers so it looks like roll finger seems the good choice. He currently has a pair of OG1 Type G that really weren’t cheap but he’s not keen as he feels they fit tight (these seem to be Hybrid cut so confused now if roll finger will fit tighter?) What he does wear is the (free!!) OG DRK Cell pair that he finds comfortable but have very little support, I can’t find anywhere what cut these are. He’s had a few knocks recently and ends up coming off injured so we are looking for a good supportive pair so he feels more secure and hopefully keep battling on. Finger spines were suggested but I’m reading a lot against these now. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

@Preston Oldfield thank you. I looked at that but don’t have a scanner unfortunately. Ordered a size 8 so hopefully I’ve not gone too big.

@Preston Oldfield Ah I misunderstood it. I thought it said only scanned 🤦🏻‍♀️ Oh well hopefully they’ll fit him. Mind you the new gloves now feel like after the horse has bolted as it turns out the knock he took on Sunday has broken his wrist 😖😖
👋 Welcome to the J4K Goalkeeper Community!
Hi Keepers and Parents As you probably know, goalkeeping is a VERY LONELY position for both keepers and parents. If you are a parent who has no idea how to help your child, let the leading goalkeeper coaching school since 1998 hold you and your child by the hand. We have helped hundreds of keepers go pro or gain USA scholarships. For example, Adam Davies, who plays for Wales and was in the 2022 World Cup, is an ex-J4K student. This is exactly why J4K created this community—so you never have to do this alone again. There is absolutely nothing like this on the planet! To get started, please take two minutes to complete these two steps: 1️⃣ Introduce Yourself Below: Tell us your name, what country you’re from, and share ONE thing you or your child is struggling with right now (handling, positioning, or confidence). 2️⃣ Claim Your Free Asset: I have unlocked The Free Goalkeeper Confidence Blueprint completely for free to eliminate match-day anxiety before your next game. IMPORTANT: Because there are children in the community, we have ZERO tolerance for spam, bullying, or indirect selling. Accounts breaking these rules are reported instantly and banned. Camera set up
Does anyone else put a camera in or behind the goal? Just curious what setups people use, if any. I usually stick a GoPro on a tripod behind Jack’s goal (photo is the view we get).

Thanks. You don’t get much from it like that I guess? Perhaps better at back of net do you think? My son is keen for one but not sure what to get

Any advice on cut please? Reading it looks like roll finger recommended for slim long fingers which my 12 year old has but the OG1 Type G he has he says feel quite tight. I’m just learning about gloves and considered the Shok Sheild as he seems to get knocks a lot that put him off. I’m so confused!
