"Golden" KPop Demon Hunters
Some of my students asked me to transpose and write out "Golden" from KPop Demon Hunters for them. I wasn't exactly sure what the song was, but I figured it out and figured I would share it here too.

Ugh...I can't...lol! If this was for piano or guitar or uke, I would probably give it to my kids and then put in my ear plugs. ๐Ÿคฃ This song was on repeat in our house for way too long.

Actively Listening
Deep listening turns music from background noise into a full-body experience. It connects you to the performer, the writer, the moment, and even the community around you. It transforms passive enjoyment into active appreciation. ๐Ÿ’ก Try This Today: Choose one songโ€”any genre, any era. Listen once as a musician. Listen again as a teacher. Listen again as someone who simply loves music. If you simply just love music and aren't a musician or teacher, actively listen to the song and try and pick out each part. Try to separate the words, then move to the music and listen for the chord changes, the beat, and focus on what that song is trying to make you feel. Whatโ€™s one song that completely changes for you when you really listen to itโ€”and what made you hear it differently?

Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. It might not directly pertain to the instrumentality, but his rendition is so haunting. And then to know his tragic end...I hear it differently and it gives me chills every time I listen to it. Because the song is so renowned - it can be a great example of how to teach emotional connection through music.

I tinkered on my daughter's piano yesterday. I would love to make this more of a habit and try to remember what I learned many, many, many moons ago

@Channing Mack I will say that music memory seems to be a real thing. I played piano, clarinet and sax all throughout my youth up through high school. I remember piano much better than the others...but played it the least. Maybe because I started it when I was so young ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
