Since im now wearing a smart watch at work, I invert the face and wear it on the right so I can tan my left wrist.

From deep dives to mountain hikes to tough days on the job, a real tool watch shows its value when the pressure’s on. 🛠 Got a G-Shock that’s been through hell and back? 🌊 Worn your Seiko Diver on every trip? 🧗 Trusted your field watch when things got unpredictable?| Share your story. Post a photo. Tell us where your tool watch has been—and what it’s been through. Let’s give these workhorses the spotlight they deserve.

I gotta give it to my smart watch. Step counter, compass, water tracker, and it'll automatically call 911 if I fall down and stop moving. It also can store a couple podcasts, music, and I can install task specific apps. (Ie: I use an app to count defective railway ties in a mile. I find a bad tie, touch my watch and it adds 1 to my count.) I have 6 different bands so far. Hi-viz orange rubber is my work choice. (It cleans easy and goes with my fit) Im very impressed with its ability to withstand shock and weather too. Driving a RR spike puts a lot of shock into a watch. Ive broken the hands off cheap analog watches many times! My Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch has been taking the abuse for a few months now and seems fine.

I picked up a timex expedition field watch (white face, brown leather band) for about $60 on Amazon. I like it for hard work days. It looks good and dont care if it breaks. My favorite is the my new Samsung Smart Watch which I got for around $50 (with the purchase of a new phone. They're regularly much more expensive). I picked up a half dozen different bands and have some pre-selected dial colors. It goes with everything.
I didn't think id like a smart watch, but...
I got the Samsung Ultra Watch for almost nothing when I bought a new phone. I figured I'd sell it, but first I wanted to test drive it. (Never had a smart watch before.) Turns out, I love it. I have turned to the dark side. I now have about 6 different bands, and its become my daily driver. I even got a smart ring to try and kick the habit, but no... I like tracking steps, calories in and out, water intake, etc... I never imagined there would be a day when I looked at my watch to decide if I was going to have dessert or not, but here we are.

@Jeff Wilkinson this is basically what I did. My face of choice is an analog face, with 8 different complications. (Weather, date, daily health goals, water intake, calorie intake; heart rate, compass, and step counter) Its busy, but it works for me. I often change the face color to go with the band and outfit of the day. When i make all the complications the same color, you barely notice it. Its been mistaken for an analog watch a few times now. ...but im pretty sure they were really just saying "wow, your watch band matches your outfit perfectly" but it came out as "nice watch."
