Indeed I am!!!
Mushroom Monday... deepening our knowledge of lion's mane
Hey y'all, I have using lion's mane as a functional mushroom for brain health for years but recently, since growing my own I have been using them as food! And dang, are they tasty! I had our friend @Christopher Keller over this past weekend and so he can attest to their deliciousness. I did a simple method, I put them in the pan dry to release any moisture, and then I fried them up in butter, garlic, salt & pepper. I had some oysters and so I threw them in too! What I got was a simple and delicious way to enjoy them, their meaty texture and flavor profile was top notch. I am looking forward to exploring other recipes, like this one, offered from our friends at North Spore. A lion's mane "fish" sandwich, it actually sounds so good to me, I will let you know how it turns out. Have you worked with lions mane, either taking it as a capsule or tincture for brain function or have you tried cooking with it? I would love to hear about your experience! https://northspore.com/blogs/the-black-trumpet/turnip-vegans-lions-mane-fish-sandwich?_pos=1&_sid=a9c81295b&_ss=r

Let’s introduce ourselves!
As we enter this new season, I’d love to engage a bit more with everyone present here. Please feel free to introduce yourselves, tell us where you are from and share what you love about the fungi kingdom.

@Emily Socha resonate deeply with this sentiment of frustration, or lack of an openness to exploring the multilayered experiences each human can have. Boston is good area to get to know your local mycology and its benefits. My son is in Boston at college and we have visited several times. There are many historical sites in the area in which old trees live. In other words, older mycological networks. Ie lots of established fungal blooms.

@Emily Socha due to the historic preservation of land near Boston, there are old trees. Older the forest the more established the mycology. More mushrooms. Graveyards specifically, but other areas too. I have not investigated about mycology clubs but I’m sure they are there. Most universities have them!
Our second Q&A call is uploaded
Hey y'all, I have uploaded the second Q&A session to module 1 in the Mushroom 101 classroom. Emily and I had a lively conversation where I answered some of her questions and explained the mushroom growing process. I showed some agar plates and grain jars that I inoculated about 2 weeks ago to show the growth process as well as how different varietals grow so differently. I am currently working on straw shiitake, lions mane, and king blue oyster. I am sharing this session with the whole community, if you have been interested in becoming a premium member, we would love to have you join us. There is one more Q&A session before Module 2 drops. Please reach out with any questions. Mush love.

Great job friends! Looking forward to cultivation. Although I have such a foraging fever too! Finding medicinal/culinary fungi in the wild brings me such joy!
Our first Q&A replay is posted
Our first Q&A session was last night for Mushroom 101. The replay has been posted in the classroom under module 1. It was a lively conversation and I am sharing some resources here that came up during our talk for your viewing pleasure. https://youtu.be/kdiP8PzDI1Q?si=6JynDjx38ZctQPd5
