Book 2, Freely Given is avalibale for pre-order. Blurb She said two words to a book that had already written her name. Take me. The register took the offer. It did not take her. It spent the offer on her sister, and it wrote Poppy Rooke into a column that has been used nine times in three hundred and thirty-six years — and Marlowe Rooke has five weeks to buy it back. She has a stolen ledger that will not open where she wants it. She has a professor who has not spoken aloud since 1846, who put four hundred words in the margins of her essays twice a week for seven months, and who now refuses to help her — flatly, immediately, without giving her a reason. And she has one precedent. In 1966 three women tried what she is planning. It killed two of them instead of one. Substitution does not substitute. An offer freely given is not a swap. It is an additional consent. Somewhere under the Vesper Conservatory there is a woman who has kept the register since 1690 and has never once been able to help anybody. Ninety minutes inland there is a mother who was told a name in a corridor four hours after her daughter was born and has never understood what it does. And in Threadneedle there is a nineteen-year-old who has worked out exactly what her sister is doing, and who is not going to be the thing in the fourth column while everybody decides about her in rooms she is not in. Marlowe is very good at three things. The third one is keeping a record. She is about to find out what her own name is for. Freely Given is the second book of The Sable Gate — a slow-burn dark gothic romantasy about consent, arithmetic, and the difference between a thing taken and a thing given. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HLWXNKM6
📚 Is Your Amazon Author Page Optimized?
You spent all that time writing, publishing, and marketing your book, but have you taken the time to optimize your Amazon Author Page? One thing I see authors overlook is 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹, which is a completely FREE tool that allows you to create your own author profile on Amazon. Think about it. Someone discovers your book, gets curious about who wrote it, and clicks on your author name. What are they going to find? A professional-looking author page that builds credibility and showcases your books? Or an incomplete profile with little information? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟱 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗲! 👇 ✅ 𝟭. 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗼 Your author bio is an opportunity to establish credibility and connect with potential readers. Don't just list your accomplishments. Explain who you are, what you write about, and why readers should trust you. For nonfiction authors, highlight your experience, expertise, or personal connection to your subject. For fiction authors, introduce your writing style, genres, and what readers can expect from your stories. ✅ 𝟮. 𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 📸 Readers want to connect with the person behind the book! You don't need an expensive professional photoshoot, but you should have a clear, high-quality photo that represents your author brand. If you write under a pen name, consider how you want that author identity represented. ✅ 𝟯. 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 This is a BIG one! Your Author Page is an opportunity to cross-promote your books without spending additional money on advertising. If someone discovers one of your books and enjoys it, you want to make it EASY for them to find your other titles. Log into Author Central and make sure all your published books are properly associated with your author profile. Check your Kindle, paperback, and hardcover editions, too. ✅ 𝟰. 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 ⭐ Did you know Amazon Author Central allows you to add editorial reviews to your book listings in the US marketplace?
