🙋 My name is: Chrissy Hogue Bartels 📍 I'm based in: East Dubuque, Illinois, right on the river across from Iowa. 💼 What I do professionally: SAG-AFTRA actor with a speaking role on NBC's Chicago PD, filmmaker, and communication professor. These days I coach people to show up and tell their story so it actually sells, on a stage, on camera, or on the page. I also run a community called The Prosperity Ascent, for people who are done with the rat race and ready to build their own exit. 🎯 Who I serve: People who look successful on paper and are secretly researching a way out at 2am. They have a story, a drive, and no vehicle that fits the life they actually want. I help them find the voice first, then a way to turn it into income they own. 📖 My book idea or working title is: The Night My Father Was Stabbed (and Other Hilarious Stories From My Life on My Way to Success). 🚀 My goal for my book is: To turn the hardest chapters of my life into proof that a person can cross that kind of terrain and come out building something. I want it to be the front door to everything I teach, and the thing that opens stages and rooms full of the people who need it most. 🤔 My biggest challenge with publishing is: Time. I can tell these stories out loud in my sleep. Sitting still long enough to get them onto the page, around a business, a community, and a camera, is the real hill. 🌟 One fact people would be surprised to know about me: The title is not a metaphor. My father really was stabbed, and somehow that night became one of the funniest, most defining stories I tell. I moved to New York City at eleven to live with him, a playwright, and the arts genuinely saved my life.
