Last week: - improved on prospecting outreach - new client website design approved - retained a client that I thought I was going to lose This week's list: - new client: expectation setting + onboarding - launch another client's site - continue some semblance of outreach despite onboarding / launching activity - "bite the bullet" and start putting together SOPs for my wife to help my time challenged self.

Monday. Let’s go. You’ve seen the reel. Slowed piano, a guy sprinting stadium stairs in the rain, all caps on the screen: "ONE DAY OR DAY ONE." Four hundred thousand views. You felt something. Then you made coffee, opened the laptop, and checked the feed. Motivation isn’t fuel. It’s weather. Some Mondays it shows up and the work flies. Some Mondays you feel nothing, and if you’re new, that’s most Mondays. That isn’t a character defect. That’s what building something looks like before it pays you back. Use it when it shows up. It’s free money. Here’s the blunt truth, and this one’s going to sting a little. If the work only happens on the days you feel like it, your revenue is tied to your mood. That’s the most fragile input in your whole operation, and the one you can’t control. Read that again. Pull up the last 30 days. Count the days you did one real piece of outreach. Not "worked on the business." Outreach. A call, a DM, a walk-in, an email to somebody who could pay you. If that number is 8, you ran your pipeline at a quarter power and then wondered why the month was quiet. Four moves this week. 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐚 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥. A goal is what you hit when you feel great. A floor is what happens on your worst day. Three outreach touches. Not ten. Three. A floor you hit tired and annoyed beats a goal you hit twice a month. 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭. Same hour every day, named for what it produces. "Pipeline, 8 to 9." A block called "work on the business" is a nap with extra steps. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲. Write the three things down the night before. Sunday you is smarter than 8 AM you on a bad day. Take the decision away from the one who doesn’t want to do it. 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠. Blew off your floor three weeks running? It’s too high. Cut it in half. A streak you keep beats a plan you admire. Motivation gets you started. A system is what shows up on the mornings it doesn’t. What’s your floor? Name the one thing you’re doing every day this week even when you feel like garbage, and tell us what time it’s happening.

Sunday Chill
It’s Sunday. The laptop can wait, the emails aren’t going anywhere, and nobody needs another productivity hack today. Let’s take a breather and talk about something other than business for a change. What’s your ideal way to spend a lazy Sunday? Sleeping in? Watching movies? Getting outside? Hobbies? Doing absolutely nothing and feeling zero guilt about it? Let’s hear it in the comments. No business talk required!

Maybe an hour of extra sleep, gearing up for the fall hunting season and going and spending some time chasing the kiddos around… then late afternoon the bbq gets turned on and everyone’s mouths start watering as dad throws on chicken, burgers and brats. Maybe some oldies twang’n away in the background.

AI
Because I have so much spare time
I went back to my punk roots and wrote a song about it “Here at nexus tech Solutions, we’re proud to announce a ninety percent reduction in human inefficiency through AI integration.” “Please disregard any threatening emails sent by the chatbot.” “All 3:00 AM meetings remain mandatory.” We fired half the office by the second week CEO said “AI will make this company more agile and sleek” Now the chatbot runs support from a server down in Texas Called a customer a dumbass then signed off “Warm regards, Nexus” Interns clean hallucinations every night Fixing broken prompt chains underneath fluorescent lights Every problem gets a dashboard glowing green and bright While the sales bot booked appointments for the middle of the night Human oversight meets every Wednesday afternoon Supervising systems that replaced every human in the room Nobody knows who’s steering now Nobody ever asks why We just nod along while the AI tells us lies Accounting’s automated nobody’s seen a paycheck clear Bot said “worker satisfaction” isn’t profitable this year Marketing posts fake wisdom generated by the stack “Burnout is just weakness that refuses to adapt” Customer support said “your concern improves our AI” Then buried every complaint beneath automated replies Human Resources vanished into predictive workflow goals Now layoffs come with TikTok clips about unlocking your control We’re just prompt janitors waist-deep in the mess Fixing every failure while the bots keep calling it progress Everything’s “optimized” everything’s “streamlined” Meanwhile reality gets left behind Now the bots hold weekly meetings with no humans in the room presentation hallucinations glowing softly in the gloom One machine keeps talking while the others all agree And productivity keeps rising in the fake economy We’re fully automated nobody can even explain why Revenue collapsing but the numbers still look high Twenty bots on conference calls applauding every slide
