For our future generations planet.
Every 24hrs, 3.4 to 6.5bn animals are killed for our food supply. The number varies greatly due to the unknowns of animals fished from the seas. Hard to comprehend, right? For arguments sake, let’s say we take the smaller number, 3.4bn. That breaks down to: 142 million per hour 2.36 million per minute 39k per second. Every day, no let off. No Sunday rest day. It’s relentless and it’s increasing. If we looked at chicken alone who have it the worst of the land animals, we’re looking at (accurately speaking), 206 million per day. Which breaks down to: 8.6 million per hour 143k per minute 2384 per second Our future generations planet won’t be able to sustain this level of farming. By adopting at least a plant centred diet involving 1-2 servings of animals products per week, our planet may stand a chance.
