Day 6 - 1 Corinthians 11-12
1 Corinthians 11: 26, for me, holds a testimony of healing from a lying, oppressive spirit. I was taught to contemplate the possibility that symptoms of physical infirmity could possibly be caused by a lying, oppressive spirit. Accordingly, my testimony, in summary, is: I believe I would be walking with a limp today if I had not resisted the enemy by declaring and proclaiming 1 Corinthians 11:26 over my body. THE BACKGROUND IS AS FOLLOWS: A few years ago, I heard a pastor speak about lying symptoms. He spoke about the importance of not just instantly coming into agreement with symptoms. He explained, by illustration, that he had a former college classmate who worked for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). She told him that each time they are faced with a hazmat (hazardous materials) situation, their protocol is to initially treat it as the highest level threat con (threat condition). After they gather data, investigate, etc..., they adjust the threaten level accordingly. By analogy, the pastor asked us to consider taking the same approach when we encounter physical infirmity - start out treating it as the highest level threat condition (threat con) which is spiritual oppression. During this time, we are not to come into agreement with the symptoms. He went on to share that if the root of the condition is spiritual, employing natural/physical/medical solutions is not going to work. MY TESTIMONY: A few years ago (no more than 3-4 years ago), I was experiencing a faint sensation of weakness that would periodically shoot from my right knee to my right hip socket. It was not a pain, but just a faint sensation of weakness - I noticed it but it didn't stop me from doing anything so I didn't even mention it to anyone. This went on for quite a period of time. I don't have a point of reference, regarding how much time, because I didn't take action - but I estimate it was 6 to 12 months, or even longer, that I experienced the periodic episodes of a faint sensation of weakness shooting between the right knee and the right hip socket.
