I was riddled with anxiety. Tense. Rigid. Snappy.
If only you could see the younger version of me with a baby hanging off my hip. Riddled with anxiety. Unable to take a full breath. Tense. Rigid. Snappy. Crying because I didn't know how to feel confident in my decisions. Venting for hours to my mom over the latest parenting challenge. Unable to feel any sense of CONTENTMENT in my life. Always searching, searching, searching for more, more, more. You don't see that version of me today because I've worked relentlessly on healing myself from the inside out. 💖 And the one tool that moved the needle was training my intuition. Because when I could tap into my own inner wisdom and research I started to see things really differently. And no therapist, chiropractor, friend, parent, or partner could ever walk me through what I learned to walk myself through. And this is exactly what I talk about on the podcast this week. Oh my gosh I had my first “aha” moment today. I was tidying up our “catch all” bench in our hall and was surprised to see a bottle of Genexa kids acetaminophen and thought to myself “Wow no one has ever needed this- I could probably just throw it out.” it’s probably been on that bench for MONTHS lol. And I thought “This could be a preview. I’ll put it in the cabinet and be prepared just in case someone GETS HURT.” 3 hours later my boys were worm foraging and my oldest had a brick dropped on his pinky finger and it split open 🥴

@Maggie Wendt next step is actually using intuition to ask “is this a preview” and for which kid 😆 Is the question “Was my thought just now about someone getting hurt the law previews?” specific enough?
Catching myself think
After the money webinars this week…… I cannot tell you how many times I have seen ads for clothes online. And I click on them and I think to myself oh that’s super cute. I would like that outfit….. and then I have a conversation with myself in my head…., but why? Why do you think you want this outfit? Because you definitely don’t need it. You have a closet full. What are you missing that you think you need this outfit? Is it someone to tell you you look pretty? Are you missing Marcus and all the places you used to go so having an outfit makes you fulfill that…… and I click out out of the ad and tell myself you don’t need it. You’re good just as you are with what you already have. Baby steps.

Maggie I have been having the SAME reflection with clothes specifically and wanting new clothing that makes me feel more “confident” and I keep comparing my current wardrobe/body to what I had in my early 20s/teens and wishing I still had the same clothes/same style. Kind of nostalgia, kind of wishing for the feeling of being young and confident. It’s really interesting to be able to decode that and see where the craving is coming from and reminding myself I can feel young/confident now. It’s all perception.

@Maggie Heidbrink what a freeing feeling to be able to recognize that, neutralize it and see it from a more balanced perspective! You can acknowledge that YEAH it totally makes sense why you feel that way ❤️ but also you’re still in control of how you feel and your actions. And also have appreciation for that time in your life, while knowing you’ve leveled up (:
