Today's Call?
@Mark Diaz Hi Mark, I hope everything with your dad is going well....I just wanted to check if there is a call today. I saw it in the calendar but wasn't sure if you just hadn't cancelled it yet?
We Won't Have Live Calls for the Next Weeks
Hi there! 🙌 Normally, the calendar, holidays or special events don't dictate my schedule. I enjoy spending time with this community and being around people who are actively working to tell stories through animation. In fact, I have a long history of sneaking away to my studio for live calls on December 25th or January 1st, even with a house full of family, just to put in that 1 hour of work before heading back. However, the next couple of weeks are a bit different. My dad is currently in the hospital due to fluid in his lungs. They detected a small tumor, but with surgery, he was able to get much better, and he still will have more years with us - he is 80 years old. While he is stable and doing well, he needs to remain under observation for a few more days. I am spending every night at the hospital to assist him with whatever he needs, which means my "play time" has shifted. I’m currently not getting to bed until around 7:00 or 9:00 AM. Because my daily rhythm has been completely altered, I won’t be able to attend any live calls for the next few days. I’m viewing this as a literal Boss Fight of life. Right now, I’m stepping into the Role of a Guardian (I like to think of it as a Dark Knight quest line 😉). My priority is to serve and assist him, while managing my own tasks (like writing and planning content) straight from my phone or laptop sitting at the hospital. Thank you all for your understanding and support. I'll be back in the game fully as soon as he’s cleared to head home. In the meantime, no matter what happens, keep leveling up!

SO sorry to hear this Mark.......take your time and I wish your dad well.
First attempt at picture to video (weird fail)
My very first attempt going from a picture (thumbnail for my latest video) to a video. I wish I had copied the prompt - I left the page and can't seem to get back to it. Anyway - this is not what I was hoping for, it doesn't really make sense that they run away and end up back at the same spot. Nor do I understand why the dinosaur disappears. I have a lot to learn! 🤣 UPDATE: I found where the video and prompt are stored. Here is the prompt: "A tracking shot follows a boy and girl in colorful winter clothes searching for something in front of Santa’s sparkling, snow-covered Workshop at twilight. Suddenly, a cartoonish dinosaur bursts through swirling snow, roaring playfully—the camera whip-pans as the kids, wide-eyed, sprint off-screen left. The dinosaur then turns toward the camera in a slow zoom, grinning warmly and waving in exaggerated, bouncy animation style."

Is there like a list somewhere outlining things we should include in prompts? I am a total newbie and don't want to use up all my credits just getting 1 20 second image to video :).

@Kipley Wentz Ya, I subscribed to things I really regret now but am stuck for 1 year :(. Envato is one of them...not sure what to do with it now since Galaxy.ai seems to cover most things except voice....so I still have to get 11eleven labs. When I am all in to something new....I am ALL in :).......I am going to attempt my first short video and see how that goes....I took notes this time so hopefully it will look ok :).
How to Animate Perfect Lip Sync with AI
I just watched this video, you went over this during the call last week but when I can pause and write notes down is how I can really absorb the info. This was great and I LOVE the PDF with what to call different positions etc. Brilliant. Thank you very much.....this is the closest I have been to trying my first animation :).

Hi
Hi everyone! I’m an author exploring animation so my characters can move, speak, and truly live!

@Hyma Setty It is so good to know someone else is going through the same struggles......what kind of animation are you trying to do? For kids? adults?

@Hyma Setty Mine are for kids. Short story books. The first books I am doing is a 4 book series, then I hope to grow my brand expanding on my main character (it is a dog named Bella). I hired an illustrator who should be done all 4 books by May and then I can market them from there.....so between now and then I have to learn a lot about marketing :). The illustrator was much more expensive than I thought so I need to do everything I can to market it.....animation seems like a fun way to do that :).

I have dreamed of publishing a kids short story book series for about 7 years and I will be releasing them in April 2026. Need to learn a lot now :).
