Anyone know much about the shorts algorithm? Without going into all the detail, ive had shorts doing reasonably well for my channel for some time, then suddenly the view counts have dropped dramatically and im working hard to understand why, but im puzzled by it. Very high "stayed to watch" percentage, but it seems low percentage and numbers of them being shown in feed .. im stumped When it first happened I had uploaded a short which had "glitched" on upload and repeated itself, meaning the retention graph showed a sharp drop in people staying to view, exactly half way through, but that doesn't explain the next three shorts being as low also. Any advice would be welcome 🙏

Hi Everyone.... Well last year, I had said I was going to do my first video but my health had other ideas. I spent two and a half months in hospital this year following some pretty major surgery. I'm home and have been working on my recovery. I'm now researching like crazy to get up to speed on everything. I bought a small wireless mike today and a light and the light is going back. It is a circular light and I look a bit strange with these reflected lights on my glasses. I've been practicing videos and am pretty comfortable with having a go. I just have to get all the bits needed to get up and running. Here's the first of many perhaps simple questions but I come from no experience at all so there will be a few. I have recorded a video using the microphone on my iPhone. Where does the audio get stored? I replayed the video but couldn't see that the microphone was "in the video". It was working. Many thanks. I've just posted a question in general discussion. Apologies so I'll repeat it here. I've recorded a test video using my new wireless mike. When I replay it it doesn't appear to be a part of the video..... that I can hear anyway. It was switched on. Is the audio recorded elsewhere on my iPhone? I know probably a silly question. lol there'll be more cheers Nanette
