Hired!
I accepted an offer for the software support engineer role! I wanted to say a big thanks to this Insiders group. The guides, calls, and especially @Anna Miller and @Nate Hobi were super helpful.
Two second interviews this week
Hello all! I'll be looking at the career guides as well, but if anyone has any tips on second interviews, I would welcome them. 1. 30 minute conversation with Lead Engineer / hiring manager for Software Engineer I 2. 60 minute in-person for software support engineer role: a few more questions relating to the role and culture fit, as well as a short technical portion.

@Joseph Ruff thank you! LFG!
Finally... a big W
So I got laid off my previous company HundredX which was a startup based out in Texas. I had gotten some severance so I didn't start looking as I was recharging. Well maybe I should have started right away because little did I know this job search would not be for the weak. Countless applications, reframing my resume and cover letter, continuously adding recruiters, responding to countless emails, applying for roles that may or may not fit your background, questioning my sanity, numerous job sites, updating job profiles, hitting up people I haven't talked to if ever in ages, getting few interviews, getting ghosted after one interview, completing all rounds of the interview process only to not get selected and when asking for feedback no response, random off shore recruiters calling you at odd times, when given feedback all they say is that they wanted more "experience" in this area, finally making it through to the end and all things are right in the universe only to get the "we flipped a coin and we really loved you but ultimately decided on another candidate", asking AI for all the life lines and rewrites. Is this you? Because this was/is me. What can I tell you is that no matter what put on that smile and keep on going. You've worked too hard to get this far. And yeah if it was a cakewalk then everyone can do it. And it would get boring fast. Just keep recharging your batteries with your loved ones, friends, outlets and anything you can. Take little breaks so that your head doesn't explode from over thinking or being drained. And look for positive outlets. I found that here with @Anna Miller and @Nate Hobi and the Insiders here. It was definitely a breath of fresh air. I got some new ideas being here and started applying them. So thank you for the support. And with that it has been a long time coming but I just signed onto a role with Apple. I can finally breath.
Finally... a big W

Whoa, awesome @Nicholas Chavez !!! Congrats! You are correct, the job search is not for the weak and you are correct about recharing your batteries.
Hello Insiders! πŸ‘‹πŸ½
My name is Darec and I am originally from Germany, now living in Florida. I consider myself to be proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - especially CSS. I love making things look nice. My greatest hurdles at the moment are DSAs and frontend libraries. I need to get better with React, Vue, and/or Angular, as these seem to be at the forefront of roles in my chosen field of Web Development. My portfolio website at http://darecmcdaniel.info

@Stephen Telles second Kevin Powell, he is great! Frontend Mentor is another great one if you like learning by building.

@Darec McDaniel I worked with React in production for two years, and then I built something in Vue recently and it was a lot like a translation rather than learning something new. I would pick one to go in-depth with, and React is the most widely used at the moment (unless you are going for jobs that say otherwise). Your portfolio has a really nice UI, what is that built with? I struggle with DSA too, but I'm trying to focus on learning the patterns.
Two wins for today!
A recruiter reached out to me and I have a call on Monday...might be a contract position, but worth a convo. I also got invited to do the first step coding assessment for the HubSpot emerging software engineers program. This was post-resume and LinkedIn optimization. Let's go!
