So good! Thanks for leading Shawn...and tolerating all of my questions 🤪
DAY 1 — Conversations That Transform — The Jesus Model Learn How Jesus Asked Questions, Listened, and Spoke Truth
DAY 1 — Jesus Asked Questions That Opened Hearts Transformation Begins with Curiosity Jesus often responded to people with questions. Not because He lacked answers. Because questions reveal the heart. Questions invite ownership. Questions move people from automatic responses into reflection. Jesus didn’t force transformation—He invited it. Scripture Matthew 16:15 (NIV) “‘But what about you?’ he asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’” Jesus asked questions that required people to think personally. The Jesus Model Questions create engagement. People rarely change because they were told what to do. People often change when they discover truth. Reflection Questions - Do I spend more time talking than asking? - What conversations in my life need more curiosity? - Do I ask questions to understand or to control? Action Steps - Ask three open-ended questions today. - Replace advice with curiosity. - Ask someone: “What has God been showing you lately?” Prayer Jesus, teach me to ask questions that invite people toward truth and growth.

I like these. Thank you! Speaking of questions… can you remind me where to find the follow up questions that we were to do at home after our group on Thursday?

Day 3 How to Pray-The Jesus Model
Prayer Aligns Your Will to God’s Will One of the most powerful moments in Jesus’ prayer life happened in the garden of Gethsemane. He was honest about His pain.He was honest about His desire. He was honest about His fear. And still, He prayed: “Not my will, but yours be done.” This is the heart of transforming prayer. Prayer is not just telling God what you want. It is allowing God to reshape what you want. That means real prayer will sometimes challenge your desires. It will confront pride. It will expose fear. It will uncover motives. Jesus shows us that surrender is not weakness, it is trust. And some of the deepest transformation in prayer happens when your heart shifts from demanding to trusting. Scripture “Yet not my will, but yours be done.” — Luke 22:42 (NIV) Action Steps - Identify one prayer request where you’ve been resisting surrender - Pray: “God, align my desires with Yours” - Journal about an area where obedience feels difficult - End your prayer time today by saying, “Your will be done”

Day 1 How to Pray - The Jesus Model
DAY 1—Prayer Begins With Relationship Not Religion When many people think about prayer, they think about a religious activity—something to check off, a spiritual duty, or a list of requests to hand to God. But when Jesus prayed, He showed something very different. Prayer was not a performance. It was relationship. He didn’t approach God as distant. He approached Him as Father. That changed everything. The reason Jesus’ prayer life was powerful is not because He used perfect words. It’s because He lived in deep relationship with the Father. And that’s where prayer that changes you begins. Not in trying to impress God.Not in repeating the right phrases. Not in sounding spiritual. It begins when you understand that prayer is an invitation into closeness. If prayer feels dry, it may be because you’ve made it a task instead of a relationship. Jesus teaches us that before prayer changes circumstances, it changes connection. Scripture “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.” — Matthew 6:6 (NIV) Action Steps - Spend 10 minutes today in prayer without asking for anything - Simply talk to God as Father - Write down what makes prayer feel like obligation to you - Replace one “religious routine” with honest conversation today Hit the “like” button if you are following along with this 5 Day Mini Course.
