June Bunnyhop Winner Announcement
Congrats Casey Cardwell for a 16 inch bunnyhop! You win a free drop in. Details in the video. Also, I'm not doing winners for mo they challenges anymore. I think most of you arent trying because you don't think you can win. My point for the monthly challenges is for a monthly topic we all work together on. Whether your trying it for the first time or just looking for improvement, I want everybody to participate. . What should the July challenge be?

23.5” is where I topped out. My technique started to falter a bit at that height though. My personal best before that was 16”. I think stopping winners is a good idea, but maybe create a system where we post our first attempts, then track progress throughout the month. If you wanted to reintroduce incentive, you could reward progress instead of “bests.”
Bunny hops
Here are my latest attempts. I’m still working on the technique and timing. The higher the barrier gets the more my timing devolves into a donkey kick. The second video shows me clearing the barrier better, but with worse timing. This is at 22.5” and it’s as high as my barrier goes.

@Levi Weert can you explain that a bit more?

@Levi Weert that makes sense. I like the idea of focusing on the knees; that feels like a good cue.
Bunny hop barrier
If you’re working on bunny hops, I’d recommend making this. I’ve gone through a few iterations, and this is the one I like the best. The top board springs back into position if you hit it, so there’s never anything to reset. The springs are trampoline springs you can get off amazon. One change I would make is to justify the diagonal braces to the outside of the uprights. I didn’t do this, so I had to make two lines of bolt holes. The bolt holes are 1” apart, so you can set the barrier at 1” increments.

Here is the extremely low consequence version. It’s just some uprights and a cross member with an inner tube and a bell. The bell is importantly because you wouldn’t otherwise know if you hit the tube. Installing some eye bolts on the inside of the uprights would give you the best vertical range. As long as you don’t snag your pedal, you can basically ride right over it without getting tripped up.

This is 20.5”. Still working out the technique. I feel like I’m lacking spring and not scooping the bike up. My legs stay pretty straight throughout.
NEW BOOK IN THE WORKS!
I decided to try another book. This will be a series of 7 or more books that I plan to create before 2027. My main goal is to provide more value to riders who take the online coaching and my 3-part masterclasses. Along with content I will be able to use over many platforms for years to come. . My Canva abilities are now easily combined with some chat gpt revisions to make these look like this! . In case you guys didn't know this, support for these side projects including trying to bring my youtube channel back to life comes from PATREON. Consider signing up and helping me move these projects forward! You can join my Patreon platform for as low as $1 per month.

Sweet!
Manual May Winner! June Challenge!
Congrats @Kyle Leonard for winning the Manual May challenge! Ordering you a "Manualing is a Lifestyle" tee from my website. June challenge is highest bunnyhop. . Listen, the idea is not to submit a video or more because you think you have a chance to win. Think of it more like "We are practicing bunnyhops as a community" . The 28 Day Bunnyhop Challenge is in the classroom. Follow along. Repeat. . Shred On!

Nice manual! I’m still figuring it out. I never got anything worth posting, but progress was made. Bunny hops feel more in reach.
