I've been waiting to save these dresdens. I found it in my Grandmother's closet. She was NOT a quilter but I know her grandmother and aunt were quilters. Someone got ahold of them later and made a tied summer quilt but they were not a quilter and the top was one way, the bottom another. Tied with yarn. It was ripped and the blue fabric feels soft of fabric rot and the beautiful hand work is lost on many blocks. I previously took the mustard yellow away and next I'll remove the dresdens carefully off the blue. Hurts my heart to remove the stitches. I'll applique them onto the cream and sash in the deeper gold or teal to retain some of the quilt before repairs. The photo is my great great grandmother and my great great aunt who probably made the blocks. Its possible it was my great grandmother but i have no idea if she was a quilter. I do have their crazy quilt top I'll post soon. It's so fragile I leave it alone!
