My New Skool
I was among the first 500 members to this group. And I credit Alexa and the group for much of my success as a YouTube Creator. I started my channel at 80 years old, monetized in nine weeks and now I have over 43,000 subscribers. I have started my own Skool, “Old Me Living Better.” It’s only three weeks old but has over 250 members. It is $5.00 a month. Nothing else to buy. You get access to my guides and worksheets, including “How I Make $1000 a Month Side Income,” and my “YouTube Quick Start Guide.” https://www.skool.com/oldmeliving/about

You have created an amazing community, and the fact that you have over 250 members already is brilliant, and I'm so pleased for you. I'm proud to be a member @Mike Bayer

Happy Birthday for Monday 🥳, this sounds interesting, looking forward to knowing what it is.
Why I'm posting regularly in this community
Contrary to popular belief, I'm posting in here to give back to both Alexa and this community. Even if no one likes or comments on the post, it really doesn't matter. I'm happy to share my knowledge and what I've seen work with both me and others! Since I've been on this platform, there's one community that has really helped me and also inspired me. And that's this one. In fact, it's Alexa's journey that encouraged me to leave my job to try to pursue content creation full-time. Would I have taken that path anyway? Probably. But her journey and her success definitely helped! @Dr. Saundra Stancil has also been so welcoming, and I appreciate the hard work she's putting in managing the community! From the bottom of my heart, I wish everyone the success they deserve with their YouTube channels! 👍

@Chris Lawrence It has been yes, a great journey and so strange that we've run so parallel to each other

@Chris Lawrence I know and also that we've known each other for so long and didn't realise either 😆

Tips! 💡
Most creators focus on the wrong phase of the YouTube algorithm
Phase 3 (Recommended feed) is the goal everyone chases. But you can't get there without passing Phases 1 and 2 first. Phase 1 - returning viewers decide if your video is worth watching. CTR, watchtime, engagement. Pass this, and YouTube finds your lookalike audience in Phase 2. Pass that, and Phase 3 takes care of itself. Most new channels stall at Phase 1 because they don't have enough returning viewers to send a signal yet. The fix isn't hacking the algorithm. It's building a loyal base through content that answers real questions people are actually searching for. Do that consistently, and the algorithm follows. Des

Tips! 💡
If you're building a YouTube channel alongside your [enter your niche], this matters...
YouTube's new 3-tier viewer metric is a game-changer: ✅ New Viewers = your discoverability is working ⚠️ Casual Viewers = they know you but don't need you yet 🎯 Regular Viewers = your "core" (watched 6+ months consistently) Channels with high Regular % get homepage priority in 2026. Here's the strategic question most creators miss: "What can I create ONCE that viewers want WEEKLY?" Not daily news (burnout). Not random topics (no pattern-building). Try this instead: 1. Pick ONE weekly recurring segment 2. Track Casual → Regular conversion for 8 weeks 3. Double down on what works Examples: - "Friday Founder Updates" (your niche) - "Tuesday Troubleshooting" (help + consistency) - "Weekend Workshop" (hands-on value) Currently testing this with my coaching clients - early results show 2-3x faster Regular Viewer growth vs. random posting. Anyone else adapting to this shift?
