Final round with Asahi
Hi EYS Team! I’m excited to share that today I completed the final interview with Asahi Intecc for the Neuro Territory Manager role — and what a journey it has been! Here’s how the process unfolded: - ✅ Initial call with the recruiter - ✅ Videocall with the Hiring Manager - ✅ In-person interview with the National Clinical Specialist, where I was asked to deliver an in-service on one of their products (I chose one and built the presentation using their brochures) - ✅ Second videocall with the Hiring Manager - ✅ Final videocall today with the VP of U.S. Sales For today’s interview, I took a bit of a creative risk — and it paid off. 🥷✨ Since I knew the VP appreciated presentations and data, I prepared a storytelling-style deck called “The New Ninja of the Midwest.” 🥷📈 (When we started our call after saying hi, thank you for your time and the Q&A will start, I told him: “I’d love to do something a little different for you — we can have a normal interview, or... I can tell you a Ninja story.” 👀) In the presentation, I: - Framed the territory challenges and opportunities 📉📈 - Positioned myself as the New Ninja ready to conquer the Midwest with purpose, creativity, and discipline ⚔️ - Presented my 30-60-90 day plan using white, yellow, and black belt stages 🥋 - Shared 6-month territory insights and growth ideas 💡 At the end, the VP told me my presentation was outstanding, and our conversation shifted from “Why should we hire you?” to “What are you going to do in the territory?” 🥷💥(I felt like I have the job and I'm having my business review with him) No matter the final outcome, I feel proud and grateful — for the process, the people I’ve met, and everything I’ve learned along the way. Wish me luck! 🤩 @Vanessa Ziccardi 😍

First Recruiter Interview
Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that I have my first phone interview this Friday, 05/23, with a recruiter from Stryker. I actually submitted my application for the role just this past Monday, connected with the recruiter and received the email for a phone interview yesterday so it all happened so quickly and now I'm a bit nervous. I already had a mock interview scheduled for tomorrow, which worked out perfectly timing-wise. Still, I’d appreciate any advice or tips. Thank you all in advance!

Johnson and Johnson
EYS, do you know anyone who works as a Monarch-Clinical Specialist at J&J? If so, I would love to speak to them as I have been invited to have the initial interview with them.

Business plan? Territory plan?
I went to a networking event yesterday and as I was speaking with some reps they recommended I have a business plan/territory plan when going into interviews. Is this something that the program helps out with?

They do talk about it but as an entry level you do not want to act like you know the territory because you wont. You do not want to promise or make up quota numbers because it's unrealistic for us breaking in. Instead you want to focus on helping the team, learning about the culture, processes, be supportive, adaptable and learn. Make it applicable to the entry level role and onboarding. As @Todd Crowder says, show up, shut up and follow up.
Alcon Connection?
@Student Success is there anyone in the EYS network with Alcon? I was automatically rejected from a role I am extremely qualified for. I had a referral and have spoken to many people at the company including the hiring manager. The hiring manger said, the recruiter isn't able to see my application and for me to reapply. The application process won't let me reapply. Thought I would reach out and ask if anyone happens to know someone that can help at Alcon. I sent the hiring manager (communicating via text) the date I applied (March 24th) and the Job Req number.

@Elizabeth Rapihana @Pamela Hutzler We cannot get discouraged. Although I am there with you. I have spoken to several who tried multiple times to break in, some even up to 2 years! @Tj Jones said it's important to not apply for a position, but to get that referral for that position. Continue networking, building those relationships in the setting you want to get that referral. We got this!
