Mechanism of Transformation
Practice shapes perception. Perception shapes action. Action shapes identity. Identity shapes relationships. This is how change happens. Not by thinking differently. But by experiencing things differently. Question: Where do you see this in your life?
I dont think that I agree on the wording, in the sense that for me that is a very specific order of many. Perception has a far greater influence in oractice as practice in perception, identity in action as action in identity, relationships in identity as identity in relationships. Practice a million times sets 10000 experiences that shape 100 actions that shape 10 identity changes that change 1 relationships. As a pyramid sculped in a diamond. But I dont see it like this as I see no casual linking, just linking. Also perception is a first for me: I see my parents and my sister shaping my perception and identity before my actions. I see me learning to walk even when I can't remember it, because I imitate and decided to do so, or instints, so due to identity. I see others as part of who I am, they shape me as much as I shape them. I am also missing understanding as word: for me thats the motor of permanent change. When I really deeply understand something, suddenly i can walk and I am a person and speak with persons or I can fly and I am bird and speak with birds :D.
Are you constantly optimizing?
Modern culture trains us to optimize. Be faster. Be better. Be ahead. But something gets lost: depth clarity connection Embodied philosophy is not about improving yourself. It’s about meeting yourself. Question: Where in your life do you feel caught in optimization?
While I agree I want to share that there is a special feeling of meeting yourself while trying to optimize, knowing yourself in the meeting, the imprrmanence and fragility of the body, the slow of mind, the weak spirit, the realization of constraints... that optimizing I really like. But for me all depend on the intent, I think that if the main point is to achieve something then that finding yourself part is lost.
@Björn Pospiech flow feels easy, what I mean is kind of the opposite. I had to reflect, the neareat concept that I found is "Tapas" from Yoga. Its kind of trying to do something hard on purpose. The feeling comes from the intent (there are different ones)
Hi all! I am Javier (Javi)
Hi, I am Javier, I come from Madrid but I live in Heidelberg. I am a very happy person. I have two sons and a wife. I am a Taekwondo practitioner since 2 years. I would like to improve the comunication with people that I don't see too often, like my family in Spain. More generally, to conciously save some time every day for that (or other things). For this week I am going to stop for a moment and take 10 minutes every day of time to prepare a present for my Nephew (or something similar).
@Kilian Urban Thanks Kilian! :D
